Q: Is it good for make a DIY projector screen?

wow, i never thought about using it for something like that. i suppose it would work. although the fabric is ivory colored on one side and white on the other. between the two sides you should be able to find which works best, unless you want to get a white roc-lon fabric to be sure, i think they make that. it smells a lttle chemically, i put mine on the clothes line for an hour or so before making the drapes to get rid of the strong smell. you might want to do that before putting it in a family room or other small space.

According to fabric.com's site, the fabric is 54" wide. It is sold by the yard if you buy 4, it should be 4 yards of 54" wide fabric.

Q: Can you put it right onto the window or do you have to sew it onto curtains? If yes, how?

You probably won't want to use it by itself...it is not particularly pretty. However, if you cut it the right size you can clip it behind already existing curtains using curtain rod rings with clips. No sewing involved! The blackout fabric is quite heavy so if you did sew it onto curtains you would want a pretty heavy-duty curtain.
