Super happy with this mini split!
I purchased this .75 ton single zone system for my master bedroom which is always hotter than the rest of the house. So, this is providing supplemental cooling to a room. I was lucky to have an ideal situation of having space on an exterior wall in the room so the heat pump could be placed just on the other side, with an electrical subpanel within 10' of the unit. So, very straight forward install. I purchased a 2 3/4" hole saw to make a clean hole on my interior drywall, then used a small masonry bit to make a series of small holes in a circle on the outer stucco wall, being careful to create a slight downhill slope from inside to outside. Some comments about the instructions that come with the unit: - the description of wiring connections refers to colors that didn't exist with the kit that I purchased. In the end, colors don't matter a bit, just make sure the order is identical for connections 1,2,3 and ground on both sides of the control cable. - the manual mentions in bold letters to be sure to plug the drain in the drain tray using the supplied plug on the side opposite of where the drain hose is coming out, since it is designed to support either left or right side drains. I couldn't find any plug, so I called support. They said ignore, it's already installed at the factory, and since I didn't need to change it to the other side I was fine. - the manual mentions to test your drain by removing the filter screens and pouring water into the tray. This is not obvious where to pour the water. Tech support said to pour over the evap coils. My first try I poured a little too far back and water ran down my wall. Then I poured a little close to the front and water ran out the drain line like it should, with no leaks. - the very good news is that tech support is available. I probably waited about 5 mins on hold to talk to a tech, and they were very helpful. Once the physical installation of the indoor and outdoor units was complete and the circuit was run, I called my HVAC friend to come over and complete the install. He insisted that we cut the stock flares off the lines and reflare the ends, as the factory ends are usually flared with too much pressure resulting in very thin flares. Sure enough, his flares were much thicker than the ones he cut off. Also, we found a piece of loose copper in one of the 5/8" flare nuts which would have caused leaks for sure. He then made the connections and used nitrogen to test the lines to 700psi for 10 mins, then pulled a vacuum for 10 mins. Finally when he was satisfied that all air was purged from the lines he open the valves to charge the system, and it works perfectly. I had pondered doing that part of the job myself by buying a vacuum pump and gauges on Amazon but I think I'm glad that I ended up paying a pro to do it instead. There are some hazards that only someone with a lot of experience would know to look out for. As some other have mentioned these units are unbeleivably quiet. If it weren't for the fact that I can see the fan moving on the heat pump, I wouldn't know it was running at all. It is really that quiet. Hopefully this will provide many many years of comfort!

Nice unit, not so easy to install without tools and experience
I bought this to add to the bedroom. The instructions were very thorough with lots of installation hints which was nice since I had never installed one by myself before. A few minor issues such as the wall layout for my model was wrong so I had to figure out where to drill the hole myself. The through the wall hole size that was shown was also a good 3/4" too big, but that helped when installing it later since it did not quite line up right. All the components seem high quality and durable, made in china of course. Be sure to use the special refrigerant lubricant/sealer, RT201B Nylog Gasket/Thread Sealant available on Amazon, on the flange connections when installing the copper tubing, it really does help prevent leaks which are the biggest issue with these units. That is not mentioned in the instructions BTW. Once installed, the unit is super quiet both inside and outside, works fast and seems efficient. The heat function is great, can't wait to try it this winter. Be aware that unless an HVAC contractor installs it, there is no warranty. You will need some special tools such as a calibrated digital torque wrench to the tighten the connections properly, a vacuum pump to clear the lines and possibly some copper pipe flange tools if you need to change the length. Overall it is a somewhat challenging do-it-yourself project unless you have some hvac experience and tools handy. I would recommend buy the plastic covers for the lines as shown in the picture, gives a cleaner and more secure finish. Of course the next one would be easy.........

Very impressed
Just had the system installed. Done by a professional, but at a low cost because it is quite easy. No special training needed. Right away, love it. It's in the living room/dining room area, so shut off central air most of the day, no need to AC upstairs bedrooms. It runs continuously, so no spikes of AC blast, followed by a warming period. Quiet inside and outside - so nice. Its small size means easy to place and not an eyesore. Has bluetooth. Also, it's 110 voltage plug-in, so much easier to install, without a permit. I've used the better known brands before with great results. So far, this system seems just as good. Only day 2, I'll do an update in a few months.

By FAR the worst experience I've had with a seller. Can't REALLY return an item
The unit itself is OK. It's quiet and heats when you set it to heat, and cools when you set it to cool. Auto mode doesn't work, but that's not the point. If I could give 0 stars for the purchase and return experience, I would. DO NOT BUY unless you're willing to accept you'll have to pay half the cost of the unit (at best) to be able to return the item, even if it's still in its original packaging, shrink-wrapped on its original pallet. I bought the 6000 BTU unit, and it arrived with a leak (the box was even wet). I spoke with an HVAC tech and they said it would be cheaper to buy a new unit than repair it, so I went ahead and started a return and ordered a new unit. In the meantime, another HVAC tech contacted me and said he could actually repair it for around $400, so I did that and tried to cancel the new order, but it was too late. The response to the original return was that I would be responsible for the cost of return shipping (around $230 at best) and charged a restocking fee with a minimum of 20% of the cost of the unit (so another $130). That was if the unit was in brand new condition in original packaging. Mine arrived broken and the boxes were destroyed, so that fee would have been even higher (up to 50%, so about $325). To return a broken item, I would have to pay almost the same amount of money as I would just buying a whole new unit. This is not a "return policy". They said they could arrange a pickup of the old broken unit and send out a replacement. I thought "okay, awesome", and said I already ordered a replacement that had just been delivered. They said that couldn't be treated as the original's replacement, and I'd still have to pay for return shipping on whichever one I returned. So I'm back to having this $650 mini split in its original box, shrink-wrapped on its original pallet unless I want to spend a minimum of $360 to send it back for ~$300 in a refund if I'm lucky and it doesn't get damaged in shipping. No thanks. Never buying from this company again, and doing whatever I can to prevent anyone else from making the same mistake I did. This all could have been prevented if I could just treat this new unit as a replacement for the old one.

Quiet and efficient....
This mini split has been a great addition to our home. We installed it to take some of the load off our whole-house HVAC system, and it’s already helping balance comfort while saving on the electric bill. The unit itself runs smoothly and has been working exactly as expected. One important note: the disclaimer that this is not a DIY mini split is very true. I normally handle projects myself, but there are aspects of this install I would have really struggled with. Thankfully, I have family in the HVAC business who came out and did a professional installation, which made all the difference. The install turned out very nice, and the machine is running great so far. I will update this review if anything changes!

Installing
This is a quality item. Only one complaint -- the Wi-Fi dongle is missing. I have emailed Cooper Hunter customer service about three days ago and have not heard back, so I will call. At this point it is too late to send it back for just on missing part. Of course, without the Wi-Fi USB flash it is usless for remote control over your cell phone. Be aware, also, if you install yourself, that you will need a vacuum pump to finish installation. It comes recharged but the cooper lines running to the inside and outside units do not. You need a $150 AC vacuum pump to finish install. Plus you will need an additional brass, reducer fitting to attach, unless the pump you order comes with the proper fit -- if not, that will be another $10. I am waiting for a pump to be delivered -- I ordered one but was sent a Truck Milti Hitch. I had to return this wrong item and reorder a pump. Also, be aware, Cooper and Hunter have covered themselves with multiple warning about self-installing, saying they only authorize trained, licensed techs for installation -- just so you know. But many have said that their customer service is great, all the same. We will see. If I have to buy a replacement USB dongle? That will be another $60. So far the install has been pretty straight forward, and having install one of these about 4 years ago, I am familiar with the installation process -- just so you know. If you have tool skills you should be able to do it. 30 days later and this mini split is working perfectly. Nothing bad to report. A very quiet unit. Loving it, in these hot, triple digit temps we are getting as we move into summer. Perfect timing.

Good- so far
This was a good purchase--so far. I was hesitant because of mixed reviews but the unit arrived on time, was well packaged, installation went well and it works fine. The instructions are clear and came with an accessory kit that is pretty chintzy but mostly does the job (i would be annoyed if i had paid extra for it). The unit works well so far in the spring but hasn't been tested in summer or winter. I purchased an outside wall mount separately on Amazon but the outside unit's feet are an open-side-down U channel and do not fit the width of the wall mount arms or the isolation pads that came with either the mount (circular and too big) or the minisplit (rectangular and probably for floor mounting) - so I had to add additional parts. Not sure if these dimensions are available but something to be prepared for. Also, the lineset pipe-wrap doesn't stick to itself or anything else so be prepared to deal with that. The electrical/control cable ends have connectors on the ends which fit the outside unit, but not the inside unit so they have to be removed. The condensate drain line is pretty flimsy. Little annoying things, but my so far I would buy again.

Have a Pro Do the Install
This is definitely NOT a DIY kit. There are YT videos floating around making it sound like a person can sort of maybe install themselves. Bad idea. Yes, a DIY'r can do all the physical mounting, no issue. But the actual connections? Purging? Leak testing? Leave that to someone with the skill and equipment to do the job correctly. The unit has been running for over a week now. As others say, very quiet. Inside and out. I have mine set up with Alexa. The unit is in a standalone woodshop. It is a small space, 392 sq ft with 9 ft ceilings. I am running the 12K BTU and it has no issues dropping the temp to 70 in 95 degree North Carolina heat. No idea of how well it will do during the winter in regards to heating. The person who did the hook up is a professional. He stated he thought the unit was well made and was happy with some of the features.
