Best quality of Balinese's house book. It has many good quality pictures of lovely Balinese traditional homes. Pictures tell the story. I bought a lot of book about Balinese's house and so far this is the best book I've ever have. Highly recommend for art & traditional lovers too.

This book is beautiful made, with stunning photographs of Bali homes and decor.

cheap book, lavishly printed
Kudos to Taschen for printing such a wonderfully lavish spread. The photos of the featured houses are well executed and lush. Though not the traditional Balinese homes, but rather these homes are modern reinterpretations of traditional Balinese architectural elements. This is because almost all houses in this book are owned by expats, hence they are built luxuriously. Nevertheless, this will make you sit up and think about of going to Bali.

"softened/fuzzy" pictures of rich houses
Beautiful but somehow "softened/fuzzy" pictures. Pictures of very rich people's homes only. Not much Balinese culture of really living in Bali. Just her rich friends and associates I believe. Must be nice.

Great reference book and an inspirational one too. I have in displayed in my Balinese furniture shop and my customers love picking it up and drawing great ideas from it all the time too. I love this book.. I hope to collect more from the same author.

I spent extended time in Bali and even with all the pictures I took I did not have the experiences of going into many private homes and gardens. I regularly read this to bring me back to this beautiful island and its wonderful people.
