Garrett Pro-Pointer II Metal Detector Pinpointer – 360° Detection, LED Flashlight, Waterproof Tip, Fast Retune, Lost Alarm, Includes Holster & Battery

The Garrett PinPointer Pro II is really made with quality. It's easy on, easy off button works perfectly and the light is a nice addition to a much earlier Garrett pinpointer I used to have. This pinpointer is much more sensitive than my old Garrett and begins to detect metal about 3 or 4 inches away from the tip. On larger metal objects the signal goes from a fast beep to a solid signal slightly before actually touching the target. Items about the size/mass of a paper clip need to be closer. As far as selecting this pinpointer over the AT model, my number one concern was the Orange color of the AT. I just didn't like the orange color. And it was going to cost 15 bucks more for the AT though its totally waterproof and has a few more adjustments/features. If you can get past the orange color, the AT is probably the better buy but the black Pro II is going to suit me just fine.

I bought this pointer to replace my old Garrett pointer. I’ve had the old one for a lot of years. It still works, I’ve just worn the tip out due to how often I’ve used it. I also purchased another Garrett “carrot” pointer when I made this purchase. It also was to replace my old one. In all honesty, I prefer the black pointer better in most environments. That’s just personal preference, either one is great.

Used for pinpointing buried detected metal (targets) i.e. desired coins or other detectable items (nails, pull tabs, foil). I bought a Kumon $39.00 pointer to start with, although a good price point, the Garrett Pro-Pointer II is "spot-on" with minimal falsing and greater range. I use several detectors i.e., Garrett ACE 200, Tesoro Compadre, Bounty Hunter Lonestar Pro. You have to practice with all of your tools to "get the feel" of detecting. I revisited a local park where I live (early am) and detected a couple of $$ worth of misc. coins. I discriminated out pull tabs / bottle caps, and then "opened it up" to reject only iron. This pinpointer (Garrett) is very accurate-- about 3 inches + or more pointing straight down over a coin. When you dig up some soil, sand, I hold it sideways and spread it over the soil/sand. It beeps when finding something, vibrates/pulses when closer, then solid tone when right over target. (The Kuman is good as an entry level pinpointer - but you will soon advance to something better). My only crit is that it is black and hard to see if you drop it, and not optic yellow, or orange, like the waterproof Garret models. It features "lost" functions and beeps every few seconds if left on for awhile (but tone is not loud). GO FOR IT! PS - I returned to my back yard with it along with my Tesoro, pulled up about 12 old nails buried in my yard - probably from a late 70s add on to house. No coins, but it was nice, as on a beach, to get rid of junk. Sorry for long winded review - but that's my experience.

There is no way a “normal” metal detector can help if you are looking for a small thing buried under thatch and loose dirt. Works exactly as envisioned and tracked down to an inch for successful digging.

Seems to work very nicely. The recalibrate function easily narrows the range to pinpoint the location. Very nice.

I'm new to metal detecting. Only about 150 hours boots on the ground. I bought a cheap coil style metal detector. It was made in China garbage. Its always glitching out and/or freezing...it was a 70$ detector. I got what I paid for. But this was the reason for me wanting a good brand name reliable pinpointer. Basically, so I would know when my coil detector is glitching out, And when it's just demonstrating it's piss poor design and quality. I first tried a 27$ pinpointer. But it was rechargable. And i dont want rechargable. But I got to use it try it, Before, and while, i had, this garret pinpointer. Before I returned the 27$ one at least. But it allowed me to compare. Honestly. I liked how the cheap one had a sensitivity button. This garret has no sensitivity adjustment. Wich... may not be needed. I'm not the most experienced. The garret just has 1 button that does everything. I dont mind that... but I would have liked an option to turn the little light off. If it's daytime. I really dont need that light draining battery. The scraper blade there is great for leveling and searching through small piles of tailings. A pinpointer is definatly a must have in any metal detectors toolkit. Before I got the pinpointer I would dig a hole like 1 foot wide. But not being able to pinpoint. I was never really sure exactly where to dig. or whatever.

Packaging 📦 was awesome and the quality of the Pro Pointer II is perfect for the outdoors enthusiasts.

Very happy with this metal detector so far. Bought to use as an additional stud finder and to detect nails and other metal in reclaimed wood prior to refinishing. Haven’t used it on the reclaimed lumber yet but have used it to find hidden fasteners covered in mortar. The audible pulsing and vibration made zeroing in on the faster head a breeze. Worked flawlessly and saved time and frustration. Well built with thick plastic and seems very durable. . Not worried at all about having it floating around in my tool bag.

Fantastic little pointer. Far exceeded my expectations and I sometimes use it on its own when undertaking a kneeling search. Very sensitive and definite signal when it detects. Slightly higher cost for a vastly superior tool.
