This book represents only one volume of a much larger series of 5 books. This vol. 1 combines material from the basic medical sciences such as cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology. It will prepare cath lab nurses and techs studying for all the cardiovascular registry exams specifically: CCI's RCIS exam and ARRT's Cardiac Interventional exam. Chapters in this Vol. I are: General Mathematics & Units, CV Patient Care, CV Instrumentation, Sterilization and Asepsis, CV Embryology and Fetal Circulation, Blood and Acid Base, Cardiac Anatomy, Coronary Anatomy and Physiology, Autonomic CNS and CV Reflexes, Hemodynamics and Pressures, Contractility and Frank Starling Law, Vascular Anatomy, Vascular Physiology, Pericardial and Myocardial disease, Coronary Artery Disease & M.I, Heart Failure and Shock, Congenital Heart Disease, and Vascular Disease. Additional volumes in this series for these exams are: II. Diagnostics, III. Hemodynamics, IV Interventions and V. Practice Tests. All 5 books can be purchased as a bundle from www.westodd.com . Review: Great Cath lab A & P. - I love all the pictures and detailed explanations. Many drawings answer the posed question without reading the explanation. This guy takes the exam regularly himself, so seems to focus on cath lab topics relevant to nurses and techs - not Drs. The author nicely covers relevant cardiac and vascular anatomy, physiology and pathology. But, the book is so big (over 500 pages)that it is intimidating with almost TOO MUCH detail.
