It has an on/off button. Very good product

Personally, I do not find it to be very loud.

Can the lithium-ion battery be replaced?

We would like to inform you that the battery is not replaceable in the Shark UltraCyclone Pro Cordless Handheld Vacuum.

How is it with dog hair?

I would love to say that it did well but after less than 3 minutes of use, it stopped working. There is no way to charge it, so I have yet to be able to discover its full potential. No instructions included either. I love Shark products but the lack of info on how to charge the vacuum is a big issue. I don't recommend this product at this time.
