I'm washing up my second order of these towels.
Cotton, like I knew when I was young. Luxurious it may be, but affordable they are. I recommend these towels to someone who wants to start their kitchen off with a winning attitude. Need to dry your clean hands? Grab a fresh one for the job. Need to cover your fresh baked bread? Don't use fresheners or softeners in your dryer or wash and you'll find these perfect for the job. If my fingers were still nimble I'd do some embroidery work on them as they are the perfect style. I remember my Nana having a set like these at one of her houses where each towel had a week day done on it with a cross hatch. It must have been these have always come in sets of six because I asked her about the last one, for Sunday. She said that Sunday was to be a day of rest, so there wasn't one for that day. From what I could see of our life back then, there wasn't really a day of rest for the women folk as it was spent getting us children ready for church. That was a task as well as making breakfast and making sure to have the dishes ready for the potluck that we'd all do at the church after service. They wash up nicely. Roll up nicer still so I can place them all in a small chrome basket I keep on my counter at the ready, instead of in a drawer that you have to open with wet hands. In my 20's, I learned this trick from a dear girl friend of keeping cloth towels close by the job of cutting and cleaning. I have been looking for these for a long time. I am giving away my old towels and only having these. I ordered one set first to see if they fit the bill. I am now washing up my second order of six, to make a dozen in my basket. It's so I can always have some clean. Thanks, Auntie Em. I love 'em!

Great towels. Know what your getting tho
These are smoother thin cotton and not terry cloth towels. They are more like "Flour Sack" towels albeit these are heavier then those I've purchased labeled as such. They ARE 100% NON-PRE-SHRUNK cotton and just like a pair of jeans (from my day) they do shrink if dried in the drier. I knew what I was ordering and I am very pleased. These are thin, lint free and awesome for drying glassware and crystal. They're also good for baking French bread (working flour into them and using them to separate the batons while rising) I expected them to shrink so I wasn't upset (they shrunk about 1/2 - 3/4 inch). I didn't buy them for decorative towels and if I use them with bread making I do use a bit of bleach when washing them so I won't comment on the stripe colors. I believe they can be successfully embroidered but if you think the user will use and dry them in the drier, I would certainly wash and dry them first. Like most towels I've found the absorbency of these towels improves after the second wash. I NEVER use fabric softener on kitchen (or bath) towels. If you get the laundry soap out of towels, I've found you really don't need it. I use plain white vinegar in the rinse cycle in place of fabric softener on ALL of my towels. (And NO, your laundry doesn't smell like vinegar) Fabric softener coats the towel fibers and doesn't allow water to absorb. Yes, fabric softer makes towels soft and fluffy, but also makes them resist the water (like wax on your car). I will toss a 1/3 of a fabric softener/anti-cling dryer sheet in with a load of bath towels, but anymore than that and they become a soft, good smelling squeegees...not towels. I will buy these towels again.

Workhorse of the kitchen
These kitchen towels last FOREVER. Even after some bleaching, though I wouldn’t recommend bleach with every wash. They’re lovely as they are, but are also perfect size for embroidering for yourself or for gifts.

Decent dish towels
Not really much to say about kitchen dish towels. They dry off dishes in your kitchen whilst being a towel. lol. I hung one up in the handle of my fridge. Gonna teach the dog to fetch glass bottle beer from the fridge. Since dogs are color deficient I guess it won't matter which color I use, however to keep slobber to a minimum he's getting the green ones. Side note, I wear glasses. Sometimes when cooking I get oil on them and need to wipe them off. These towels are crap for that. They not really absorbent as you can see by the picture. So they just kinda smear the oil around and don't buff it out. And if you wash the glasses with soap and try to dry them off on these, you'll be disappointed again. I mean, originally they were used to let some larger pots and pans dry on them on the counter top. For that they work great. But beyond that like actually wanting to dry a couple plates, it's a no-go private. Washrags have more absorbency than these. These are 100% cotton but not thick woven. They are lint free which is why I thought I would clean my glasses with them those few times. But aside from that. Dye them red and make the shop towels and you'll be happy. Or teach the dog to pull some weight around the house. Hey, if he want's his own beer, he can get it out the fringe himself. (wait, I bet that's what he's thinking about me, lol crap!)

Love these towels!
These kitchen towels are perfect! I love the old fashioned look. But they perform as kitchen towels should. Very absorbent and large enough to do the job!

Nice towels
These are very nice towels. I needed a smaller than 28x28 & these are perfect. The towels stitch up very nicely on my embroidery machine & by hand. I will buy these again. Aunti EM'S is my favorite flour sack dish towel, I have ordered hundreds & will continue to order.

Thinner than toilet paper! Just cheap rubbish made in India. Don't waste your money, buy elsewhere.
