My first smart lights of any kind. Inexpensive, easy to set up and work well with Alexa.
Screwed the lights into a socket and turned them on. The flashed through several colors and then shined as a normal bulb would. I downloaded the LInkind app and within a few minutes had figured out how to add the lights and control them. The lights automatically updated once connected to WiFi and I noticed that after updating they stopped responding to the app until power-cycled. No big deal. Configuring with Alexa was more difficult because of how clunky the Alexa app is but voice control was working they worked as expected. I've only had them installed for just over 24 hours so it'll be interesting to see how long they run for without any serious issues. So far, no complaints. I've read comments discussing other models and others going into deep specifics about things that could have been designed different. I won't deny the lights aren't perfect and when compared to the competition they may no longer be that great but as a first-time smart-light owner, these are rather awesome. I'll be ordering at least another two or three boxes sometime in the near future if they continue working okay.

No longer working
They recently got rid of the linkind app, switching to AiDot. When they did that, the AiDot app wont connect to the lights. Now we have expensive pieces of crap we bought years ago so we can’t return…

A Standard RGB Smart-bulb
I ordered these to replace some old CFLs in our rooms. Aside from the initial bulb I tried being a dud, the other 3 in the pack seemed to work and pair with my 2.4Ghz wireless network just fine. Keep in mind, if you screw up the pairing, you have to "reset" the bulb by cycling its power 5 or 6 times until the color test and blink happens so the unsecured WiFi network is available to add it. This is kind of an annoyance that I had to dig through a lot of the FAQ and manual to discover. Maybe a "reset" pinhole [like 99% of other technologies like this employ] would have been a bit more user friendly/obvious?Diagnostic and troubleshooting leaves a lot to be desired. You can also manually connect to the randomized Unsecured networks each bulb creates uniquely in order to pair. Although, I think they should have just used a set of hex digits that uniquely identified each wireless SSID, to enter into your phone instead of a QR code to simplify things. Just make sure you only have one bulb pairing at a time to avoid SSID confusion. These bulbs seem to just want to "phone home" to the central server they connect to and don't give you much in terms of feedback once they're joined to your network even if they appear to be 'working'. That's likely by design, but it would be nice to know why a particular dud bulb won't pair, as was in my scenario. It can't be that hard to add some lightweight internal HTTP server that these things listen on to give some basic diagnostic info, would it?Anyway, judging by the extreme heat it produced and the fact it never showed up on my network's MAC list, in the first minute of being powered on, I would suspect it's a thermal problem with the WiFi chip inside. I'll be reaching out to their support to see if I can get this one bulb replaced, but the other 3 seem to work fine!Pros:- They work- Many different colors to choose from- Software lets you arrange bulbs into "Rooms" and set up scenes.Cons:- Software is clunky.- Reliance on QR codes is OK, but be prepared to use an exposed lamp mount lest you try and cram your camera into hard-to-reach places.Overall, decently priced smart bulbs that don't require a hub. Can't complain much. Hopefully they will replace my 4th dud bulb in the 4-pack I bought because the other 3 work fine.

Buyer beware
I have owned these lights for over a year. They have several problems.1. Setup is NOT always easy. The app asks for a bunch of permissions to make locating the device wirelessly easy but fails to meet those demands. I NEVER was able to connect a single one of these bulbs wirelessly. I had to do it manually every time.2. The app asks for permission of location services “to use wifi”. You don’t need my location to find my wifi. Hard pass. Then the app doesn’t work without it. So LOCATION SERVICES ARE NOT OPTIONAL.3. If you are a sucker enough to let the app use your location, it needs reconfigured after a power outage or the slightest power flicker. NOT COOL. Meaning, if, like me, you purchased boxes of these things and put them all throughout your house, you will now have to reconfigure EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE BULBS EVERY SINGLE TIME THE POWER FLICKERS OR GOES OUT (which happens a lot in the countryside-sometimes multiple times during one week)!

Not Worth the Effort or the Price
These bulbs are not any easier to set up than any of the other smart bulbs on the market, but be prepared to continuously re-setup these bulbs. There are 2 major problems with these bulbs. First, if your internet connection is down, they will not work unless you switch them on and off manually. And I don't mean they won't work with Alexa (that's a given since Alexa won't work without an internet connection), they won't even work through their native app. Why a light bulb needs to constantly check in with the mothership from Linkind, is beyond me. Recently Linkind had a network outage, so even though my internet connection was solid, the bulbs would not work. Second is they do not last. The LED light still works but the wifi radio dies. The radio does not die suddenly. It dies incrementally. So, Alexa will tell you the bulb is not responding, the native app will tell you to factory reset the bulb (without any instructions, so keep the instruction link handy). It might last a day or two, but it quickly needs a factory reset every few hours. For all intents and purposes, the wifi aspect of the bulb is useless at this point. Once again this means they are only usable if you manually switch them on and off. Also, if you have set them to a specific color or brightness level, when the wifi radio dies, you are stuck with those settings. My bulbs wifi lasted about 8 months. I would continue to shop unless you feel that an 8 month life span is reasonable.
