I ordered two of these tables to go with the matching dark brown contemporary table. I threw my previous tables out to force myself to buy new ones. I was looking for replacements that would be affordable, sturdy, well-made, no bottom shelf, no drawers, and lots of surface space. It took me two months to make a decision because every table I liked came with negative reviews, but I took a chance on these and they are perfect. I agree that the end tables are higher, and I was worried that they would be too high, but they are perfect for my couch, and my couch does NOT have high arms. Also, one of the end tables was stained unevenly on one side, so like another purchaser, that side faces the back. I don't know what they are made of, but I think the price is good for what I got. Like I said, they are very sturdy.I usually leave assemblies for my husband, but I was eager to see them in place. They are easy to put together, but they are heavy, so plan for that. I started off assembling these manually. It was taking forever! So I found an allen wrench bit, got my drill out, and had them together in no time. They look GREAT, and they are plain enough that they will go with many types of decor. Hope this helps in your decision. If not, happy hunting.

Really solid piece! Heavy and sturdy. Easy to put together. Color is as expected. I wasn’t sure I would like the color bc other reviews said it was too dark, but mine does have the gray tones. Should hold up to my wild kids and wild dog, hopefully. Good value!

Like the color and they are STURDY. Takes two persons to put together and it can hold my 20 Gallon Hexagon Aquarium easily. The hardest part was removing the staples that were used for the packaging, holding everything together.

It is a pretty piece of furniture. It is a bit hard to put it together, due to the fact that there are no words in the directions. There is only a diagram. The price is much better than if you buy this same piece of furniture from Ashley Home Furniture.

We had been looking for a accent table for quite a while. This was delivered with care and came out of the box perfect. It goes well with all our other furniture and we are both happy. .

Great price for height and size. The side table looks more expensive in person. I love it. I plan to style it with a distress beige lamp. Assembly was 15 minutes.
