Wonderful
I ordered two mats, this brand and another brand. I stack them, iron on top of cutting mat left of sewing machine. I am left handed. Works great, no smell, no problem with cutting mat after ironing on mats. Bought during Black Friday both less price.

Ideal for quilting projects
I like this wool ironing mat. Ideal size for next to my sewing machine, and is heat resistant. It is small enough to take to quilting classes. This and my new rotating cutting mat have replaced the ironing mat/cutting mat combo tool. Not as bulky to travel with, and fits into my bag with no problem. Definitely functional.

Good for ironing small crafts
Love the size. Like that I can quickly iron a small project with out having to get up and go to the iron board across the room.

Best wool, heat resistant ironing mat
This was the perfect size for me to iron quilt squares that I have created. As a sew them I laid them on this mat and iron them flat. I love this mat because it is heat resistant so as it irons things on the top surface it never goes through to the bottom whatever surface you're laying it on. It's very thick it, does not have any smell, keeps things from wrinkling and it keeps things from moving as you're ironing. Also it's very sturdy and well made. Highly recommend

Unfortunately I had to read through many reviews before I noticed someone else mentioning the black sticky residue which transfers onto my iron. I didn't realise this was happening until I saw it transferring back onto my fabric. Used on low heat and still occurred. Disappointing as the mat works brilliantly in giving crisp lines but not worth ruining my iron.
