RECAPS Filling Tool Holder Tamper Kit Compatible with Vertuoline Coffee Pods Refill Vertuo Pods Reusable Refillable Coffee Filter(1 Tamper and 1 Holder and 30 Lids)

I found this easy and a handy tool for refilling the capsules. Was overpriced, as are a set of 200 stickers if you go that route. Set it on a small kitchen scale and weigh out 11 grams of fine but not powdery coffee. Lightly tamp but don't pack it down. The tamper is very nice. The stickers are the right size, but it takes a couple tries to get it even. They stick well and coffee does not leak out just follow the guide. You can also use the plastic or the stainless-steel disc to cover the capsule. Those work as well.

Nespresso machines make amazing coffee, but at about $1.10 a cup, Vertuo pods can make great for an expensive habit. Faced with this cost, I needed to find a convenient way to make that great coffee affordable, and Nespresso keeps a tight lock on the price of their pods. I first tried with the internet hack of filling a modified pod, covering it, and putting it into a second pad. At about $0.12 a cup, this is affordable, and it works. But there are some problems with the hack. First, it takes a lot of time and effort. Due to trimming, it takes 2 original pods to get one refill. There are also concerns over sharp edges and difficulties with separating the pods after use. Finally, I worry because my machine does not sound the same when filled with the hacked pods. Not fully satisfied with the hack, I tried the RECAPS kit because of the funnel and the unique sealing system which makes brushing the edges unnecessary. The initial kit investment is a bit high but, compared to the original cost of $1.10 a cup, it practically amortizes over the life of the 30 included foils. The savings start once you start using teh foil refills, and eventually you can get down to a cost of less than $0.25 a cup with some great coffee...if you shop around. I am convinced the RECAP system yields a better shelf life than the hack and no using two pods to make one, so you can make as many in advance as you have capsules and coffee for. Assembly line style. So is the kit perfect? No, but it is pretty close. Perfect is free prefilled pods. Short of that, my only suggestion for improvement is with the tamper. While it is nice and heavy, it is also a bit short for my taste, and the sides of the base don't match the taper of the funnel. This makes aligning the tamper in the funnel more laborious than it needs to be. I see no reason that the tamper could not have a slightly longer handle and a tapered edge to help guide it. One more recommendation for the savvy consumer. While I recommend reusing pods as both environmentally friendly and economical, I do prefer stainless rather than aluminum (or plastic) for my foods and beverages. Consider building up a supply of stainless steel permanent pods. It looks like the most cost effective way of doing this is getting two stainless steel pods that ship with 100 foil seals for about $33. They seem to have the right shape to take advantage of the Vertuo spinning action. Ultimately, I would like to get several of the permanent pods from Recap because I expect the aluminum ones to dent and warp over time. Finally, this review is pretty positive, I want to make it clear that I received nothing for my review and paid for the product.

Love this concoction! I refills my pods effortlessly. The tamper really takes it up a level. However, I just wish there was a guide for the aluminum sticker. No matter how I place it, it ends up being unaligned. A bit inconvenient but it the best one there is out there.

There are mixed reviews out there and honestly I’m very specific when it comes to my coffee. This product really does work as described. I’ve found that an espresso grind works best to get a rich coffee and the thick foam on top. Once you get the proper amount of coffee worked out for the pod size you’re using it’s a breeze to use. The tamper works but don’t tamp it too tightly otherwise the machine has a hard time pushing the water through and will give you an error, overheat or half the amount of coffee. The savings on pods is amazing but honestly I really enjoy the fact that I get to use the coffee roasts I enjoy.

Well-made, works great & is a real timesaver! It securely sandwiches an empty pod between its base and funnel, the funnel prevents grounds from landing on the lip when filling, the tamper evens out the fill, and the funnel presses the foil against the lip evenly for a great seal. I use a coffee spoon that holds the 11 grams I like to use together with another hand-held large-mouth funnel & now can create a fresh pod in no time flat! I would say just be sure the funnel is free of any grounds when you use it to seal the foil on your new pod, as loose grounds caught between the foil & the funnel could puncture the new foil.

Although the plastic chips don't affect the function of this set, it shows the lack of quality control. Went through 2 sets and the two pictures of the two chips are from two different sets, one from the base and one from the top funnel. The lids are oversized and wraps around the top of the pods well. The tamper is nice and heavy. I like the funnel to keep the inner lip of the pods clean reducing the need to brush. However, when pushing the lid onto a pod with the funnel, it does not push the sticky seal all the way down to make full contact between the aluminum lid and the pods' inner lips to create a seal. The lids stay on with the sticky edges wrapping around the top edge of the pod. The space between the inner lip and the new lid is filled with grounds and coffee when brewing causing difficulty and unnecessary cleaning around the inner lip when emptying and reusing. If you push too hard around with your fingers, your nails could cut into the lid creating a hole and possible leaking now that grounds may have slipped into the area from movement.

Allows you to reuse the same pods more than once. The Nepresso machine makes excellent coffee but the pods are expensive. This cuts the cost. Thx pods are easy to fill with the holder and the tamper. Foil top are easy to use and can be easily removed.

I like this product and it has worked well for me. Easy to use and once you get the process down it goes pretty quick. I am having a small issue with some coffee leaking back into the used capsule holder but it's not a terrible amount. Maybe I just am not pushing the seals down hard enough. Anyway, I like these and will keep purchasing.

Si possono fare 40 cialde. A differenza di Nespresso: 10 capsule a 4.50! Con il caffè mio e cartucce Recaps, spendo al anno 80e. Con Nespresso 160e. Metà! E in più posso fare caffè che mi pare, pure il decaffeinato, e intensità dipende dalla quantità del caffè che ci metto nella cialda. Direi ottimo. E ambiente ringrazia!! 😂
