Works well with a connection caveat
I just installed 12 units in my house. As a background, I had a different brand installed in my house and second home. All worked well. After a year or so, my wifi was upgraded at my house. Now I coukd not reconnect the units to the wifi in my house. But the units continued to work at my second home. So, after not having leak detectors for some time, the hose on our dishwasher broke and was flooding our kitchen. Luckily I was right there when it happened and shut the water down, which brings me back to how important leak detectors are. So after searching, I decided on the Moen. I easily installed all 12 Moen units. One did come with a dead battery. The issue I see that many have is that these units have to connect up to Wifi 2.4 and not your general 5.0 wifi. And some wifi appliancees out there are pretty ‘picky’ on which 2.4 works. That’s my experience. These Moen installed easily, as my 2.4 wifi worked well with them. My experience has been some brands will work with my wifi and others won’t. I’m lucky with the Moen. I also tested one by purposely putting a very slight film of water around a detector. And it worked flawlessly by sending an alert. I also liked the app very much. Gives you the temp and humidity. And you can set the type notifications and what info. So far I’m very pleased. Just be aware of those who had trouble connecting or staying connected. Comes down to the quality of their Wi-Fi. Like I said, some brands will work for you, and others won’t. I’m happy.

Terrible product
I own a Moen Smart Kitchen Faucet that uses the Moen app and it's great. I was interested in having a one-stop shop for all my smart devices and thought staying in the Moen ecosystem would be a good bet. To my disappointment, this product is just a disaster. First of all, you need a completely different app for this (the "Flo" app vs. the "Moen" app), and the Flo app feels like it was written by amateurs. Why would the Moen app have "add device" option to add other Moen products by not this, and require a different app for this?!! Second, that app is TERRIBLE. The Moen App works great on iPad and iPhone, but the Flo app is iPhone only, so the experience on iPad is awful. Second, this is a WATER SENSOR. It should be like 5 minutes to get this thing installed. Instead, you need a separate(!) Moen account, and you have to answer more questions about your home than what it takes to get a mortgage before it even lets you add a device. Then adding the device to the app doesn't even work! It tells you to turn on the device then use the app to connect to the device wifi, then it says it will take "up to a minute to connect", but even after you connect to the wifi, it just hangs. I spent about an hour on this before concluding this whole thing is a Lemon. Moen, this is an awful product you shouldn't be selling. I'll be going with another solution.

These are worth it
I own two homes in mountain west regionand 18 sinks between them. Both homes are equipped with Flo on the water main, and these leak sensors at every sink / toilet. These are great products, I’m not sure why their ratings are mid. For most of the leak sensors I also have the long cord which detects water, wherever possible I use that combo to get coverage under both bathroom sink and toilet. These detectors have already saved me in 2 instances where water was leaking in sink cabinets. They also can notify if the temperature and/or humidity levels go beyond your pre-set limits, and this feature helped me realize that my heat had died in one of the homes when it was zero degrees out! Had I not known this my pipes throughout the home would have frozen. I have found connectivity to be easy, no 2.4 vs 5ghz issues with WiFi (I use Xfinity with pod extenders throughout each home). I do not get false alarms like some users report. Battery life seems very good as they still report 100% life after several weeks. Prior to using these Flo devices I tried to save money on a cheaper brand and those consistently disconnected from my WiFi so finally I bit the bullet. I am very pleased with these Flo devices, they cost more but are worth it in my opinion.

Gets the job done, but I wish it had a few more flourishes
I use these to detect if my dehumidifier bucket is full so I can go empty it in my shed. I've been using it for a little under a year, so here are my thoughts: - I really do wish there was a way to run these off of wall power. The battery lasts a long time when it's not beeping, but let's say I'm at work and it starts beeping, the battery will likely be dead by the time I get home. I solved this by getting rechargeable CR123A batteries, but I essentially have to have a rotating pack of them to replace in case it goes off. - After the detector puck has been submerged in water, it takes a while to dry out completely. That means you can remove it from water, dry it off, plug it back in, and the meter will still go off! It's annoying, but because I have several of these I can just keep a rotation of dry pucks as well. Otherwise it works well, and it does detect the presence of water. I've never had a Wifi signal problem with it, and it reconnects to the Wifi flawlessly every time I replace the battery. I had been looking for a water detector that had an external puck AND could be plugged in, but I settled for this one. I do plan on putting more of these around the house wherever water is.

I like that I ocassionaly get loss of signal alarms as it usually means my router needs a reboot as other devices are down too.The audible alarm is loud enough but not overpowering

After reading good reviews of this product ordered a box of three. The instructions, received upon arrival said "download associated app before unpacking" . Went to Google playstore. App "not available in your region". Huh? Tried using another device. Same. Went to company website. Very unhelpful, and trying to find email contact almost impossible. After 30 mins tracked one down. Fired off email. 24 hours later no reply. Resorted to social media. At last a response: "Android App only available in US and Canada". Well what a waste of time that was. Product therefore almost useless and returned. Luckily the seller was superb and understanding and refund easily obtained. So don't buy if you want the product to work with the android app!!

Before buying these verify that your region is supported, in particular don't buy these if you live in the UK. The required iOS app is not available in the UK App Store and presumably the same is true for Android. In theory they can be used without the app, but doing this requires a firmware update, which requires the app. Moen support confirmed to me that these are, essentially, expensive paperweights if you live in the UK. I'm not sure why they are available for sale on UK Amazon in the first place.
