Great purchase, exceeded expectations. Carried out a lot of research before buying and reputation is strong. High quality sound, particularly noticeable with vinyl and easy to connect via line in. Easy to manage vis the App along with my other Sonas speaker. Great via Airplay although no Bluetooth so if you don’t have Apple products there could be limitations for streaming. Additionally a great partner for my Brennan device

Ok, so I was a tad gutted back in January when Sonos notified us that our Play 5 system was being phased out by May. Then again, I brought my play 5 as a wedding gift and thought it’s not often you get 6.5 years of everyday use from a electrical item. So I took the plunge and upgraded to the five, it’s awesome, sounds great and looks delightful. I feel for people who went out and brought 79 bits of Sonos and told their mates to do the same. But technology moves on and this unit will hopefully continue to fill my living room for the next 10 years. Chuffed to pieces with it.

Love the Sonos Five, the sound in sublime, easy to set up using the Sonos app, I was a little apprehensive at first about using Wi-Fi instead of blue tooth to connect via the app, but to be honest, my concerns were unfounded and I’ve no complaints using it, would highly recommend.

The sound quality of these speakers paired is absolutely awesome.

The ‘speaker itself is great. I have a stereo pair and sub that I use as my main HiFi. BUT….. It has line in which is one of its plus points for me. I have a WiiM box connected through it which has old style music equipment such as CD and a record player. The Five is supposed to have an option (using the app) to autoplay when the input becomes active. In their wisdom, despite the online documentation, SONOS have decided to remove this essential feature from IOS. This means that to play a record I have to fiddle with the app. Also there is little detail about the interconnects needed. For reference both left and right line inputs go into one of the ‘speakers, even with a stereo pair which is counter intuitive if you are used to dealing with ‘normal’ active ‘speakers. If you have two Fives then you have in theory two independent stereo inputs although I haven’t tried and some reviews suggest there might be some app problems doing that. Finally, the app itself is as user friendly as a rattlesnake. These aren’t show stoppers but very annoying especially as by buying this stuff you are committing to the SONOS eco-system

Great frequency range, really deep bass in comparison to 1's and 3's. Android app works seamlessly with zero connection issues (can't comment on others as I'm android only). I use the my tuner radio service (free) instead of sonos radio (ads) or tune in (lack of stations since they geo'd it). Only downside for me is that I can't get alexa to control the my tuner radio service (it will do tune in though).

For a £500 home speaker it doesn’t do what is expected. Before you buy this speaker, know that it does not support Bluetooth and you must have an internet connection at all times with this speaker. Oh yeah and it must be a private network wifi as well and not your mobile data. Very disappointing Sonos, do better…

I can’t tell you just how happy this makes me every day. I LOVE IT. I bought it with a Sonos 1 with Alexa works beautifully

Ich habe mich für die Sonos5 Entschieden weil ich meinen neuen Plattenspieler in meine Sonos Suite integrieren wollte. Ich fand die Möglichkeit charmant den Plattensound überall im Haus erstrahlen zu lassen. Aufwachen zu Frank Sinatra. Heute kam das gute Stück an und die Miesere begann. Ich bin schon einige Trauer von Sonos und der Einbindung von neuen Stücken in das Sonos Universum gewöhnt aber das hier war anders frech. Satte 6 Stunden habe gebraucht um den Error 1000 zu beheben welcher mich daran gehindert hat meine Sonos5 zu nutzten. Am ende musste ich meinen PC aufbauen, die Sonos Controll App auf dem PC Installieren und dort das Update druchführen. Das habe ich herrausgefunden NACHDEM ich mein komplettes Wohnzimmer demontiert hatte um alle meine Sonos Geräte zu resetten wie es die Tooltips von Sonos direkt suggerieren. Aber wenn die Box läuft dann LÄUFT sie. Begeistert vom Sound und dem Wumms den sie als Standalone hat.
