This item is much better than I expected
My house mate smokes. That has to be done outside, currently that is on the carport. The well lit carport. Due to the damp winter in Arizona, the bugs have been out in full force and they really like well lit carports at night. Yep you guessed it the bugs came to visit her at night on the carport under the lights. She asked me to sit with her for a while to see all of bugs, and I have to admit that it was disturbing. The big creepy grasshopers made there way in, as did the zoomie little June bugs. I was up killing light freaked out bugs all over the place. It was disqusting. She mentioned a tent, so I started to think about netting and looking up the options.I saw this on Amazon and at the great price point it was, and I just bought it.It came in its own bag, so if I take it down I can put it in the bag for the next year's bug invasion, assuming we make it through this one. It is made well, and soft, and it was easy to install on the carport. The length was perfect because it touched the ground with room to spare. The width was more than enough to cover her chair a table and a foot rest, and still touch the ground. The netting has very small holes, so no grasshopper or june bug could get close to getting inside, which was perfect. The netting is also very soft, not scratchy which is perfect and gives it a nice hand or touch and allows it to have a soft drape that flows really nice, and when it touches your skin, you are grateful. She had to get used to the soft touch because she kept thinking it was a bug. But she did get used to it, and now she really likes it. The night breeze flows through it very well and it doesn't fly all over the place, which is a another bonus. This item was a great buy, and I am really glad I purchased it for her. It gave her peace of mind, and prevented me from having to kill all those light freaked out bugs.

MINOR WARNING:
The product is as described, small holes, stretchy, what I wanted. One minor problem that people should be aware of: Product comes stuffed in a carry bag. This requires that the top round piece, which is bend-able, be bent and jammed in there. This round piece is rather large. When I was unfolding the net, I came to the round piece not realizing it was about to unfold itself (as it should) and it unwound itself abruptly...nailing me right in the face/eye. The part is not terribly hard, but is a sturdy plastic of sorts, and eyes generally don't take being hit by much of anything ;) <----a winking smile, but my wink is involuntary, because this thing hit me so quickly and unexpectedly in the eye). ;PPlease just be aware that the thing spring-unfolds itself, and if you're not ready for it, because it is rather large, and because arm's length may not be far enough, it'll pop-unwind in your face quickly. No big deal, I recovered quickly, it was just something I wish I knew to avoid. Getting hit in the face/eye with just about anything is something we'd all rather avoid. The net is doing what I needed it to do; our weather has been horribly hot/humid this season, and I have a minor problem with an occasional black spider showing up in the bedroom. Can't figure out where they're coming from. I used to get one to two max per season (it's an old house) but after getting three in three days, and what appear to be bites on my body, I said "enough is enough." Needed a quick solution, and this provides it. Although relatively small, these spiders are far too big to get past the holes in this net. Seems to be a very decent product, and I was pleased with the price. Shopped for about a dozen before deciding on this one, very happy with it so far, I suspect it will get long-term use for years to come.Outside of the unexpected pop-out of the large ring that hit me in the eye at the top, it's a five-star rating. Only the tiniest and non-threatening bugs will get through this thing. (Note: Bedbugs can likely get through it. I suggest researching putting plastic down on the floor for a couple years to resolve that type of issue, it worked for me in the past. Unfortunately it does require long-term plastic be down, and get anything else off the floor).

LIFE SAVING PRODUCT
I'm a clinical microbiologist who has spent years with infectious disease and tropical medicine. Yet, I hoofed the world and depended on the rare mosquito net for protection. Mossies and other flying insects love me, I'm type O and drink a ritual one beer per day at sunset. I am now in Costa Rica and living at the base of a cloud forest. I ordered this mosquito net for over the bed. Not only is it useful, it's gorgeous. I must say, I picture myself nightly as Meryl Streep awaiting Robert Redford in Out of Africa. He hasn't shown up yet, but I LOVE my beautiful mosquito net and I now sleep soundly every night. I love the idea of your pop up as well, for even more flexibility in travel. As a scientist, we have far more than Malaria to worry about. Dengue, Yellow Fever, West Nile, for starters. I'd recommend a mosquito net revolution: in EVERY BEDROOM or Salon worldwide and the outdoor pop up would be fabulous as well. I think I'll gift everyone I love with one of these. It is life-saving and I do mean that. I live in California in the Sierras. West Nile Fever has migrated there very efficiently on the wings and body parts of our mosquitoes. We can't afford not to have nets anymore. I love your product and who you are and what you do. FABULOUS. Geri
