This is NOT a barn beam and it is not rustic. This is a NEW 65 pound block of wood that has been made to look reclaimed. Please read ALL OF THE REVIEWS before purchasing and KNOW what you are getting before you purchase. Also, this does NOT come with free returns if you do not like the product. We talked to the seller and have asked that the listing be updated so that it is NOT misleading. BUYER BEWARE.

Just a hunk of wood
This hunk of wood doesn’t look rustic at all. Two sides had artificial worm holes that looked so deliberate that I couldn’t have them showing at all. I was really hoping for an and look with planing and cracks. Instead, it had such symmetrical and sharp axe cuts that it looks ridiculous. It was very difficult to mount but we expected so much from the reviews. There are BEAUTIFUL reclaimedbeams and beam mantels all over Etsy. I am so disappointed that we went with this mantel.

False advertising. This isn’t hand hewn. It isn’t even a barn beam.
