Excellent product that serves its purpose extremely well as an anti-friction layer. For example, a wound on my palm no longer has to be in direct contact with gauze and the constant micro-movements that come from normal hand use. Instead, I place gauze on top of the Mepitel One and then wrap my hand with a self-adhering elastic bandage (modern Ace-style wrap). This setup has been a big improvement in comfort and protection. I did read reviews on other sizes claiming the product was shower-proof, but after receiving it, I realized that isn’t really accurate. The mesh has fairly large pores. I had expected the holes to function more like a one-way system—allowing wound fluids to escape while resisting incoming water—but they are simply open holes. Shower water, along with dirt or oils running down surrounding skin, will pass straight through and reach the wound. Because of this, you’ll want to cover it with a second waterproof layer if showering. Longer-term, once a wound stops oozing, it makes sense to transition to a hydrocolloid (colloidal) bandage. That type of dressing is waterproof, more occlusive, and helps maintain proper moisture levels, which supports healing and prevents scabbing.

Works great! I tore the skin on my arm 5 days ago and no matter how I covered and treated it, it was not getting better until I switched to using this product. I love how simple this is - bring self adhesive. Just cut it to size and applied it after cleaning the wound, without any added creams. This product lets you see the wound without removing it, and peels off easily when you want to, without damaging your skin. It has vent holes to let the wound heal, while still protecting it. And it is clear and pretty non obtrusive. -- way better than traditional bandages and pads.

I am a nurse and use this a lot for skin tears. I actually bought this for my dad for a first aid kit because he has such thin skin since he has gotten older and has gets skin tears very easily. You can use it on the skin and leave while it heals and don't have to replace but about every 5 days and it won't tear the skin when taking off. It can be expensive but I bought when on sale.

Helps with something that is not going to heal or needs to be washed but exposes wound. Open mesh semi falls apart. Easy to peel and remove. Holds up usually 2 weeks. Sometimes longer.

These are the best things. I first got them when I was in the hospital, but my arms, tear really really easily and I can put this on it and instead of snagging and hurting and whatever within a week. It looks so much better it can breathe. You can take a bath with it. It’s great if you

This is 100% better than regular band aid-type products. This goes on, stays on, in baths or rain, eventually falls off when wound is healed. This is what doctors use!!
