I bought this about 8 months ago and just had to replace the latch mechanism. Fortunately they sent extras with the original order, so this must happen often. The broken one got pushed too far down and would no longer spring. It was very difficult to get the broken one out, but easy enough to install a new one. So I would advise you to use the slightest touch when you open and close this, don't push hard. Beyond that, it is still my favorite small trash bin ever. It's so easy to empty and replace the grocery store bags as liners, and it looks good, too. I took off a couple of stars for durability just because of the latch, but otherwise this is totally a 5-star product. I have three, and will continue to use them because I like them so much, but will be a little more careful going forward.

These cans are perfect! It keeps my animals out of the garbage. I have them in all of my bathrooms and I have experienced no issues with any of them. The lid is perfect and it’s the perfect size.

I love this trash can. It's slim and fits nicely in my small bathroom plus I like that it has a lid. Grocery bags fit nicely as a liner and it's easy to change the bag.

I wrote a review of this when I bought the first one four months ago, but forgot to hit "submit" lol. Found it still there when I came to write this one, so here it is: "This little trash can is perfect -- brilliant design, with the lid part a separate unit that slips over the can. At my place it fits on the counter top next to the refrigerator and close to the sink so easy to toss in scraps. Only worry is how long the top will keep working. It includes a second plastic latch which suggests to me maybe they don't last very long and you can't get additional ones but at this price, who cares? Once they both wear out I'll just order another unit. Ordered at Amazon some rolls of small plastic liners as grocery ones really don't fit. Could not be happier." Well, it didn't last. One of the little pegs that hold the lid on broke and it wasn't dropped or anything. It just gave up. So you might wonder why I bought this again. For the reasons above -- the design is just so cool. Fingers crossed I get more than four months use from this one. Update: The same thing happened. The peg broke on this one too. Just ordered something similar but I hope not as fragile as these are. Too bad because, as I mentioned before, the design is so good but it's just not well executed.

This item looks great exactly like the picture show. I have a five-year-old. She hasn’t broken it yet so it’s made better than I expected. I would definitely order it again.

Nice looking trash cans and easy to use. They include extra clips for the “spring action” but I didn’t need any.

I really loved this trash can when I first got it. Sleek design, easy to clean, and it even kept my dogs out of the trash (huge plus!). I use it in my bathroom, so it wasn’t being opened and closed constantly, and certainly not by anyone rough. Unfortunately, the lid mechanism broke on day 99, and now it won’t close at all. For something that cost $24.99, I expected it to last longer than three months. If the lid were sturdier, this would’ve been a perfect buy.

I was pleasantly surprised with this slim trash can. The top slides off, you install a clean trash bag, slide the top back on and the trash stays secure and does not slide down. It is small but the oblong shape allows for a lot of trash and it opens and closes with the slightest tap. Fits between my toilet and vanity perfectly. I love this trash can.
