4FRNT designed the Devastator Ski to do one thing: everything. The jury's still out on its ski ballet chops, but there's no doubt about its powder, big-mountain, and hardpack performance, which all starts with 4FRNT's ReflectTech design. Fully rockered skis like the Devastator have traditionally had trouble edging consistently, but ReflectTech matches the rocker radius to the sidecut radius, offering smooth and predictable edging and providing more effective edge as you lay the ski over. This lets you rail aggressive turns at speed and break out of them in a hurry to dump speed, hit a cliff, or slash a giant spray-turn right in the photog's face. The Devastator's ash and beech core has been wrapped up in 4FRNT's semi-cap construction, which blends a cap's light weight with a sidewall's strength and durability and also decreases swing weight for a jibbier, more maneuverable ski. Don't confuse maneuverable with wimpy, though--fiberglass layers keep the Devastator stiff and solid, while the Vibe Veil vibration-dampening layer keeps the ride smooth even when you're pushing your speed limit to the breaking point. And, while the ski is fully reverse camber, the low rocker profile of the tail provides solid turn finishing, so you don't feel like you're stuck on a boat that's got a mind of its own.
