Singing in Chains

Thank you Meredid for giving those of us who have struggled to learn Welsh the key to understanding the rules and the richness of Welsh poetry. And for writing it in English.This has enabled me to enjoy reading the book. I haven’t had to struggle looking up every other word, worrying if I really have understood correctly the Welsh.Once upon a time, I promised myself I’d learn to write Welsh poetry in my eighties! Had abandoned the idea but now with your book maybe it is an attainable dream.Mil o ddiolch :-)

Mererid is a wonderful Welsh poet. I was hoping for a collection of her poems. This book is an explanation of a traditional technique of Welsh poetry writing, which although fascinating was not quite what I was looking for.
