Unlike others in these reviews, I did not even attempt to use the vent mount. Honestly, vent mounts just seem ridiculous, prone to falling, and of course, they block the vent. What I needed was a way to mount my phone in front of the one flat open space on my dashboard, as if it were a permanent mount built into the car. This mount was one of very few that offered a good mount with a flush mount option like this, so I tried it out. I had planned on screwing the mount to the dashboard, since I never expected the tape to hold, but when it arrived, I thought I'd try it out. Well, I just used the tape, and it stuck remarkably well. It's great. I never needed screws, and the mount is holding perfectly and looks fantastic in my car. The iOTTI phone holder is also great, so a win win. I was really psyched about the little magnet that holds the charging wire too, but somehow, the magnetic tape they provided opened up, fell off the wire, and was never seen again. Not sure what happened, but they should have included three to five of these on-cent pieces. Oh well. Buy it.

Works great for an iphone 11 or 12, keep in mind that this will not work for larger phones (iphone 13) like pro or a phone with a heavy case, it will fall right off the vent.

The unit does not bind to the vent louvres on my 2015 Honda CR-V. The louvre point down under the weight of the holder with the phone, and in this position the holder clamp (along with the holder and phone) eventually slips off. It is not possible to tighten the clamp enough to keep it tightly bound to the louver. However the new iOttie Easy One Touch * 6 * Air Vent seems to fix this with a stabilizer that prevents reorientation of the slats. I already have an iOttie for my dash and it works great. This unit positions the phone much more conveniently: the phone is easily within reach, and easy to view. Alas, the phone and iOttie fall off after about 10 minutes of driving. I wish there was a more frictive version of the clamp.

This works extremely well on the window-side Driver's vent on the 2017 Chevy Tahoe, Perfect placement, door can close easy with phone in place (I have not tested my phone in the landscape position, so test that first), this solidly holds the phone, and the setup does not flex the Tahoe's air-vent blade, so vehicle is safe from cosmetic damage. It's a great alternative to any other type (suction/adhesive/etc.)

I like this mount overall, but found a couple small issues. First, the best feature is its one-handed operation. I can attach my phone to the mount with one hand because of the button-release for the clamp arms. I was also able to remove my phone with one hand by pressing the opening lever with my pinkie finger to release the pressure of the clamp arms. Very ergonomic! My largest problem is that the "feet" on the bottom of the unit that are there to stop the phone from slipping downward aren't adjustable enough. I have a longer phone with volume and on/off buttons at the middle of the side of the phone. When I clamp my phone into the mount, the clamp arms press the power button on the phone and turn the screen off! The ostensible solution is to adjust the height via the feet at the bottom of the holder, but they don't move down low enough -- instead of pressing the power button, the clamp arms press the Volume Down button, which makes it so I can't hear music or GPS directions. If the feet extended downward another inch or two, this would be an almost perfect product, but as it is, it's basically unusable. My solution was to use scraps of foam, stack them up and cut them to size, and then tape the foam block on top of the feet to boost the phone up high. This way the clamp arms are positioned underneath the buttons. This makes the mount less stable and very top-heavy, but it does allow me to use it. My only other criticism is that the rubber vent mount portion can slip over time, especially if the weight of the phone forces the vent fins to angle downward.

I've tried out multiple cell phone car mounts over the years, and iOttie has consistently been the best-in-class among them all. I already own iOttie dashboard mounts, which have terrific adhesion to the dashboard and excellent clamps to hold your phone in place that are sturdy and well-designed. This vent mounted option from iOttie has the same clamping system to hold your phone firmly in place, as well as a great ball-and-joint swivel to set a comfortable viewing angle. The vent mount itself is pretty sturdy, but you'll have to carefully work the vent attachments into your air vent as deep as possible and tilt the air vent blades to their lowest possible angle to allow the mount to brace against gravity, otherwise your mount and phone will pop off the vent at your first bump in the road. Once I figured out how to keep this mount firmly in place, I was just as pleased as I have been with iOttie's dashboard mounts. To top it all off, with years of experience, I can say with confidence that iOttie offers some of the best customer service around. They really stand behind their product and work hard to resolve any problems that may arise. I haven't had any problems arise with this air vent mount, and don't anticipate that I will. But it is reassuring to know that if anything does come up, they will make it right. I highly recommend this product due to it's excellent design, ease of use, sturdiness, and the option to use this mount in multiple vehicles.

I’m honestly impressed this has so many stars, because it absolutely refuses to stay attached to a vent. Maybe mine just didn’t get the memo. I tried every possible adjustment short of superglue. My phone is a completely normal iPhone — not a brick, not a tablet — and apparently that’s still too ambitious for this mount. If you’re looking for something that detaches itself mid-drive, this is perfect. Zero stars if that were an option.

Uchwyt bardzo dobrze trzyma telefon, łatwo się go obsługuje, nawet jedną ręką. Niestety montaż w kratce spowodował jej pęknięcie. Może w nowych samochodach plastik jest wytrzymały ale w kilkunastoletnim okazał się zbyt słaby. Pozostałe zamówić uchwyt na szybę.

When it comes to phone holders, iOttie is the one place to go. This is not my first iOttie phone holder (which is why I bought another one for a newer, bigger phone). The tensioner means that this holder grips the vent very well. Easy to install and functions great. The magnet that holds the cable in place on the back isn't very strong, but that's a minor glitch. The holder itself is very good. Highly recommended.
