My go-to after the gym
My fave! These protein bars are a fantastic go-to snack. They’re clean, simple, and genuinely satisfying, with a great balance of rich chocolate and subtle coconut flavor that doesn’t taste artificial or overly sweet. I love that the ingredients are straightforward and easy to recognize, and the bars are filling without feeling heavy. Perfect for a quick protein boost on the go, between meals, or after a workout. Consistently fresh, great texture, and definitely a staple I’ll keep buying. And 12g of protein after the gym is perfect!

Must-have for Whole30 and beyond. Great Paleo quick food.
It's hard to find Whole30-approved convenience foods, and really, convenience foods aren't the point of the Whole30. But it's so, so helpful to have a few quick things to grab for emergencies to keep you from giving in to the unhealthy food that may be easy to grab in a weak moment. One box of these were just enough to get me through the 30 days. I ALWAYS kept one in my purse for food emergencies, and they came in super handy when it was time to eat but there were no Whole30 approved foods to be had. They are a little bit sweet, but not so sweet that you feel like you're eating a dessert. This was really important for me because one of my main goals was to conquer my sugar cravings. One other type of bar I got that had technically "approved" ingredients was too much like a sweet treat to be useful for me. These are quite chewy...you can't gulp them down in one swallow, and I think that's one of the best things about them. You have to take them one bite at a time and eat slowly. Now that I'm done with the Whole30 and I'm trying to "ride my own bike" with my food choices, these are still handy to have around. They give me an option with healthy ingredients when I'm "hangry" and need something right NOW. :)

No added sugar - and no artificial sugar? Shut the front door!
We all know that most processed food is not what we should be consuming - and I don't. Prior to 2014, most of my diet consisted of eating out of a box, bag or can. However, after being about 100lbs overweight for most of my life, things had to change. I had to learn about food...and nutrition...and lifestyle. While I did learn to cook good meals and delicious desserts with artificial sugars (no refined sugar), there are times when I just want something tasty...without having to prepare it. Admittedly, I have tried many times to create my own bar (as I laugh out loud)...some were edible...and some were not. Obviously I was never really passionate about creating my own "protein bar", or I would have kept at it. I am so GLAD these guys were successful in creating this bar!! If you listen to Dr. Lustig, he is passionate about health and issues related to sugar consumption. I didn't consume any type of refined sugar for 4 years, but I did consume artificial sweeteners like stevia and erythritol. It caught my attention when Dr. Lustig mentioned that you are probably better off eating cane sugar than most artificial sugars, and fructose (sugar) from fruit (avoiding the HFCS). As a researcher, I had to process for a minute that consuming cane sugar was better than consuming artificial sugar. It makes sense when I review my own eating habits that feel like they are driven by sugars like aspartame and acesulfame. Then again, there are other players, like blood sugar levels, that can wreak havoc on hunger and complex brain signals. I do have a point. The RX bar has dubbed itself as the no "BS" bar. (I love the simple packaging - it's brilliant marketing.) If you look at the ingredient list, it is ALL food except for the generic "natural flavors", which may be considered suspect if you read the research. I have not read every single food label on their products, but the ones I have read have ZERO added sugars, meaning the sugar referenced on the label comes from the fruit. There is also a small amount of natural sugar in peanuts. This is HUGE!! The only thing I don't like is that they stick to my teeth (they are chewy due to the dates). I guess this means I should just eat even slower and spend time enjoying them more as I clean the dates off my teeth! I have tried this bar (coconut chocolate), the peanut butter chocolate, the chocolate with sea salt, chocolate chip and blueberry. They are ALL delicious although I am less of a fan of the blueberry, but that likely has to do with the fact that I am MORE of a fan of literally anything chocolate! If you do eat processed food, this bar is one of the best options out there with no added sugar and no artificial sugar. If you can't wait for 2-day shipping, check your local store. I am starting to see these bars sold by the box in local stores - and not just health food stores. I am just really excited that finally there is something on the market that I can enjoy without compromising my health!!
