3000mAh Battery Replacement for iPod Classic 7th Generation 160 GB Thin

Got this as an upgrade mod for a first generation Zune. Working great

Dead from the go. Put my old Zune battery back in and it worked like it did before so it’s definitely the new battery that’s defective.

Bought to install in a Zune 30GB. Thought it was dead on arrival because device did not respond when I installed or plug in. I thought I had shorted my device but the original battery worked fine. I even had a return lined up but decided to let it sit and cook. It took 6 hours of charging before it came out of the deep sleep state and battery had enough juice for the device to decide to power on while charging. Currently still cycling full charges and draining to get an accurate calibration and read with a power meter to determine the usable capacity of the battery but expectation is it will be in the lower to mid 2000mah reading if it was in deep sleep indicating it has been some time since manufacturing. Will update with exact measurements if I remember. Just keep in mind if you appears DOA let it sit monitored on the charger for a good amount of time. >6 hours.

I had already bought and used this battery before with excellent results. For my own reasons I had to cancel the last purchase and the seller acted fastly and responsibly.

I have the thin iPod classic 160gb 7 or 9gen, the angle of the picture on the website of the battery. The website says this is the one, but it’s not. So double check which one you have before ordering.

I was uploading my upcoming show music onto the IPod when a error came up onto the screen. The IPod was a little warm, but didn’t think much about it until I noticed the front was starting to separate from the back cover. Then all of a sudden smoke started coming out of it. I hurried and tried to take it to the door to take it outside, when both half’s opened and battery was starting to glow red and continued to expand. It was melting down and melted off of the ribbon connector the attached it to the motherboard of the IPod and fell to my carpet and started melting my carpet. I quickly kicked it to my front door to get it outside because it was glowing Cherry red. So I ended up with a ruined carpet and Armstrong tiles at my front door and a ruined IPod. These things are extremely dangerous when the decide to go!

This battery works insanely well. i charged it once and its been plowing for a straight 2 months without another charge. Greatly recommend.
