My "go to" card stock for Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, any occasion!
Every year I use these to individually watercolor cards for family and friends. Each card is different, based on something that has happened or some event that signifies that person's year to remember. I've been doing this since 2008 and this has grown from just a few for family members to over 75 individual cards at Christmas. I am both honored and flattered that almost everyone (even those who are not sentimental "savers") have a collection of all the cards I've done for them. This size is perfect to fold in half, paint and slip into a standard small card envelope. I know it's supposed to be for students, but I've found Strathmore 400 card stock to be perfect for cards for any occasion. It holds the paint well, is very forgiving for errors and lasts and lasts (well, I can only vouch for cards I painted in 2008 and the still look great 18 years later!

Watercolor paper block
I liked working with the block that I didn't have to tape down my paper. But the paper warped and it wasn't only the one two papers down were warped by the opening where you begin to take the paper off the block, also paint bled to those papers at that spot. I will make sure I will tape that area before I paint from now on. The paper is very nice and sturdy, and I will probably buy this again. The weight was good, I like a heavier weight but can't afford at this time, so for the money this is a good value.

Nice, thick paper.
Very nice paper and it's what my watercolor teacher requires that her students have this specific paper for her class.

Excellent pad for watercolor
I bought this pad for a class (Strathmore Artist Studio) and I just love it! The paper is perfect for watercolors and I really do like the size. I highly recommend!

Great paper
Great quality rough texture paper for painting watercolors. Have been using this paper for years. Each piece is bound on all 4 sides to make a block...making it really convenient to work on since you don’t have to worry about the edges buckling up while the paper is wet. Also easy to remove each piece after it’s dry. Very happy with this paper.

Strathmore watercolour paper has always impressed me because of the quality of their products and the good quality/prize ratio. This is also the case here. This pad has a great size for beginners, not too big or too small. The tone and texture of the paper are excellent. I use it mostly for mixed media, mostly working with acrylics, and I do nasty things to the paintings (rubbing, scratching, wiping, etc). Yet, the paper resists almost everything and it is very forgiving. I always gesso the paper before working on it. Perhaps not as good as other brands, but this is one of my watercolour paper pads staples.

Paper is good but the annoying thing about this book is the pages fall out the minute you turn the page!

Perfect, as described. Just need to wet the edges of the pad of paper to pull the sheets apart.

I am not happy with my purchase. The pages were all stuck together. It was almost impossible to detach them from each other without tearing them, so I lost a few pages while trying to detach them. I didn't notice it at first and started painting on the first page, so I also lost a part of my painting. Perhaps I'm the only one who experiences these stuck pages, but it appears that some moisture has adhered the pages together.
