We use modified house rules to make the game cooperative. Would this expansion adapt to that?

Actually, that is exactly the opposite of the intent of this expansion! That being said, there are definitely some very nice new cards and corporations that I found worthwhile. And depending on exactly your homebrew rules work, you might be able to adapt the main play as well. But this expansion was definitely designed with PvP in mind.
