This thing is a LIFESAVER
I have multiple inner tie rod removers. To be completely honest, this isn't my go-to...but when you need it, you NEED it. IT SAVED MY BUTT, heres why: My sisters 2014 elantra GT 2.0 is a trooper. It hits curbs OFTEN, poor thing. The most recent time it ended up with a lower control arm that just kind of looked like a folded taco shaped pretzel. When i was down there i noticed the outer tie rod was a little bent, and the inner had lost its boot. Here is where it gets hairy. The thing does not have a slot for any wrench/tire rod tool. Literally the inner tie rod is just a round freaking ball. Confused, i first turned to google, where the consensus was to REMOVE THE RACK AND PINION AND TAKE A PIPE WRENCH TO IT ON YOUR BENCH. Aint nobody got time for that. Enter this little tool. Put a long 1/2 extension on there, with a big ratchet or breaker bar and it came right off. Got it done just as fast as the normal slip-on type inner tie rod tool. The aftermarket moog tie rods i put on thankfully had a slot for tool/wrench so installation was easy. My girlfriend drives a 99 lifted 4runner, so inner tie rods and ball joint work has become pretty much a yearly activity.

Amazing tool
I tried a big pipe wrench. I tried all my adj wrenches. I don't really understand why the big pipe wrench didn't work. But this tool did. I didn't even have to position it on the flattened part of the tie rod. It worked on the round part and barely left a mark. It didn't slip at all. On one side, I had a hard time unscrewing it even after I got it moving. This tool is so effective I could just hold it with my hand, slide it 30 degrees at a time, and crank on the breaker bar with a 18" extension on it. It releases to slide and then bites back down no problem. I'm so glad I didn't buy the whole tie rod remover kit with the long sleeves and inserts. Even the traditional version of this where you tighten the two nuts on the u shaped bolt would have been 10x harder to use. This thing is amazing. It's amazing.

It works but difficult to get a good grip
Used this to do a friends, inner tie rods on his Kia Soul. I typically use my inner tie rod removal kit with all of the different adapters, but I was out of state visiting my friend and told him I would help him fix his tie rods. The tool does work, but it is cumbersome and sloppy. I would never use it if I was planning on doing more than one job. The tool acts similar to a pipe wrench and as you apply pressure, the teeth grip onto the inner tie rod. The problem is they don’t have a snug fit, so loosening and tightening can be very difficult as you have to have the perfect angle. It is a good universal tool to have in your toolbox to use in a pinch, but not a replacement for a real inner tie rod kit

Works grat after you get used to it
I bought this one by tool whiz as the parts of it that grip are well made. they had others that were cheaper but the teeth that grip didn't look as wellmade as this one. It requires you to use 1/2 inch extentions and a 24 inch breakover bar to help get enough leverage. I used it to remove ineer tie rods on a 2005 pontiac grandprix and it did very well after the learning curve. to install the tie rod just revers the direction you put it on the tie rod so it gets a good grip for installation.

Crap tool
I had high hopes for this tie rod tool with all of the good reviews. Unfortunately it didn't work. It wouldn't bite AT ALL. The teeth were beyond dull and whole tool was coated with paint rendering it absolutely useless. Really bad and soft metal used to make this tool as well. Even though it wouldn't bite I managed to dent the teeth. I threw away the box/package that it came in so I'm not sure I'll be able to return it. At least it's was pretty inexpensive. I'm just gonna have to rent a kit from my local auto parts store. If you want to have success on your tie rods you'd be wise to do the same. This tool is a nothing but a frustrating headache to try to use and a horrible waste of money.

The only inner tie rod tool you need!
Best inner tie rod tool I have found yet, the price is almost too good to be true for how easy it make removing, replacing and properly torquing inner tie rods. Save the money and frustration and just buy this!

TRQ inner tie rod for Tacoma larger than stock!
it barely fit on the removal (original Toyota) which i was able to remove. But did NOT fit on the new install (TRQ) by about 1.5 mm. What a pain, ive got to order a different one. The tool itself is of decent quality.
