Also here is a couple of quick tips: *Fill only the bottom row with water, then place the blue cup n there. The bottom row of water is plenty to fill all the bulb gaps with water. If you put too much water in there, it will be hard to get the blue cup out. Also it will likely overflow and crack. *Remove all Ice from the Ice Genie, place any unused ice bulbs into the blue cup. When you have used those, put warm water in the cup to loosen the new ice. Definitely beats having to run out to the gas station for ice. Review: Not How I Hoped it Would Be - This is great in theory but very clunky to use. It’s tough to add water into the small rim without getting water into the blue bucket that holds the extra ice and you ultimately end up with a big chunk of ice in the bottom of the bucket. It’s tough to get the blue inner bucket out to release the ice once it is frozen. Also, it really doesn’t make all that much ice at a time. It’s just too inconvenient to use for it to be a worthwhile purchase in my opinion. I’m still using it because it’s currently my only source of ice but I’ll probably just buy some old fashioned trays. I wanted to love it but I just don’t.

Fun new ice tray!
This is a neat little product! It’s easy to use and doesn’t take up a lot of space. About the size of a eddys ice cream. Taking the center piece out is tough so I have to let it sit for a second or slowly pry the ice away from it but being flexible, it makes it a little easier to wiggle out. My hands just get cold so I get a towel. This is the only reason for dropping a star. I still kind of rate it a 5 just for the fun of popping the ice pieces out. The ice is the perfect size too. Not too big/thick but big enough to last a good while in a cup. I chew ice and these are a good size to suck a little then crunch when it melts away a bit. I always hated the traditional ice cube tray size. Did I mention the center piece is an ice bucket?! It holds about 5 full ...ummm .. trays?! Idk but you can fill it 5 times with ice to store and one in the mold. Hopefully I explained that well enough! Better than having to fill it every time you get a drink. Definitely recommend this product!

Nice Idea That Doesn’t Quite Work
Well, it’s a good idea, but it just doesn’t quite work in real life. The first challenge is getting the outer ring filled without the inner bucket floating up. Once the ice cubes are frozen, the inner bucket does not come free very easily, and it is then very difficult to refill the outer ring without getting any water IN the bucket onto the already frozen ice cubes. I gave it a couple of tries before giving up and throwing the outer ring and lid away. I did keep the inner bucket - it’s a convenient size and shape for other applications.

A nice and easy-to-use ice tray! U put in water!, inner bucket is ingenious, Cubes are very Cold!
It does take some time to use the right amount of water without overfill. but becomes easy and so much faster than ice-tray-pouring with practice. the cubes make for a very cold drink in a sealed vessel in the fridge. I like the contact free aspect of the release into serving cups. i don't have to deal with lost cubes like trying to free a tray. the unit does take more 3 dimensional space and does make less cubes overall but it makes up for its better use in places where a very flat area in a freezer is limited. 3 degree tilt on this unit is no deal breaker but for ice trays it usually is and results in faulty cubes. Very reliable as you get every cube every time. I got 2 and its been great so far. Using inner bucket for cubes is doable but hard to avoid melt of stored cubes in blue bucket. Use a insulated container in fridge for ice cubes to be used in 12 to 24hrs or store them separate in a freezer-safe vessel indefinitely

Not worth the price, breaks.
Originally this was a 5 star product imo. But after buying and having to replace it in a short time, it is not worth it. I first bought it in November 2021 and really liked it because it didn't have the weird flavor many have from the silicone. Then I found the blue inner canister had cracked on the bottom after freezing one day, and I know I never hit the bottom or did anything to cause it to crack. It broke in April 2023, so I used it for almost 1.5 years and had paid $30 for it. I was disappointed but purchased a second one in May 2023 and took great care to make sure the bottom never was tapped (even though I never did that with the first one either). Unfortunately this one broke, in the exact same spot as the first, and didn't even last 3 months. I paid $40 for the second one. I've spent $70 on these for less then 21 months of use. Not going to purchase a 3rd x!! I contacted the distributor (cannot find any where to contact the direct manufacturer) who takes credit for this "amazing" product. They said there was nothing they would do, not even an apology for the issue. Said have to take it up with Amazon. Which we know that you can't return anything after 30 days and who would buy insurance on a plastic ice maker!

Awesome Product (Verticle space in freezer!), Yikes to those who have trouble
Alright, so this was a late night drinking purchase but I don't regret a second of it. Quite simple, DON'T OVERFILL. For those who forgot their science lesson, ice expands. Remember snow? I was taught it expands 10 times the amount it actually was {AKA 10 inches of snow melts to one inch of water (this is my science lesson back in middle school 15 years ago)}. So, by using common sense, DON'T FILL TO TOP OR YOUR INSERT WILL BREAK! When getting the insert out after water freezes, you tap the cup from the bottom, it releases any ice frozen to it and pops right out. EASY! The lid is a hard plastic, so you have to use the rubber ice tray as the work around to get the lid one. EASY! When you have ice, you DON'T put it in the cup AND THEN fill the container up with water to freeze new ice. There is the thing called ice melt which creates a heat/cool friction which may break/crack your plastic insert. How to solve, USE A DIFFERENT CUP TO HOLD ICE! Lol man these ratings killed me with how people are just not educated or have common sense. Yes, this is my rudest rating ever but you confused people deserve it. This product is actually easy to store and the ice size is a pretty good size.

Great, small ice maker
This item is what it says, it's a compact way to make ice and store the ice previously made. I am frustrated because the blue insert will not stay down to the bottom when there is water in the clear ice making portion. It floats up causing a solid circle of ice to form at the bottom of the container. It's difficult to describe but I hope this makes sense. In all other fashions this ice maker is great for the price. It's easy to refill and freezes in good time. I wish I knew how to get the blue insert to stay down and possibly even have the lid fit tighter.
