This torch is a beast!!
The media could not be loaded. This torch is a beast! It will melt five ounces of silver in snap! Same with copper. The following comment is not a negative, just something to be aware of. This torch burns a lot of gas - quickly. As such, as the volume of gas decreases the pressure also decreases which means the tip temp decreases. Thermodynamics 101, PV=nrT. This is very important when dealing with larger amounts of the metal in the crucible. With silver not so much as the melt temp is1,763F. With copper though it can make a difference as the melt temp is 1,984F. Just need to swap bottles or let the current one stabilize to room temperature.I really like this torch and would highly recommend it!

It is Hot Hot Hot, But not for long
This has been one of the hottest torch tips i have ever seen. It can soften metal to the bendable point, it can heat and brass car radiators with ease and if it's cold in your garage in the winter, it will heat it up just fine. That last one was a joke but, you do need to use it in a well ventilated area because it really does put out the heat. Now for the CON's: There is only one setting and that is full blast all the time. This has a couple drawbacks like if your use small portable gas cylinders you have between 7-10 mins of run time before you exhaust a full tank. It also means you have no temp control from the tip. It's blasing full blast or its off. If you try to adjust it down off of full you will damage the tip itself due to the concentration of heat at and below the flame tip exit point. It only takes about 20 sec to go from normal to glowing white hot at the ends of the tip. I have used it with both Propane and Mapp GAS and both perform well with it. Just remember, if your using it with a handheld type cylinder, the cylinder will freeze up at the bottom and it will only last about 10 mins

Ok
It’s good but hard to light have to feather the pressure but works good un-braising distribution boxes on vrf a/c systems

Works for making sterling/Ge alloys
The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a torch w/a bit more muscle vs buying a smelter or having to resort to oxy tanks and several other costs. W/just propane alone tho I’m able to reach the needed temps to make some oz ingots and play w/alloy making to process into sheet/wire easily without needing oxy or acetylene set ups.

Works fine for refrigeration small jobs
I try with a 7/8 copper and heat fast

Great for Copper Work
I use mine for annealing copper sheet and bar, after it gets work-hardened by hammering. Perfect for this. I’m working on 18”x 24” 20 gauge copper sheet and 3/16” dia. Wire.
