Medical-Surgical Nurse Exam Secrets Study Guide: Med-Surg Test Review for the Medical-Surgical Nurse Examination

I really like the book as it is thin, not bulky. It has concise, to the point course material for easier comprehension. I love the way the disease processes are briefly outlined with all factual material needed to understand the disease entity. I am an older, seasoned nurse of 38 yrs. I work primarily in an Ob-Gyn , Gyn Oncology Presurgical unit and a lot of diseases processes have become vague to me; thus, this book provides a refresher course for me. We are broadening our scope of patients and we now see a wider array of sicker pts. stemming from all kinds of medical surgical, breast cancers, etc. Therefore in order to help these pts., I need to become familiar with my patients existing disease processes and the associated related surgical effects, if any, on their conditions. This book is also ideal in helping me review my patients medical surgical background and is very much helpful for me in preparing to take the certification exam in the Spring 2016. I love this book and I am looking forward to learning as much as possible through this medium. Thank you so much Mometrix for this book. The concepts are easily understandable.

Overall, I think that the book is great. When I first saw the book up close I didn't know what to expect to learn due to the size, but as time went by I could tell that be a study guide had plenty of information I could learn within it to be successful on my exam coming up soon. Then materials within the book can help the test taker (A Nurse) remember some of the things he or she has forgotten since being in school as well as brush up on the things that one already knows.

Even with lengthy experience , 30+ years of nursing...you really learn well what you do the most. The majority of my career being spent in neuro intensive care I was concerned about testing in such a broad manor. I have now completed the book and am doing very well on the practice questions. The amount of information presented in such a concise manor is fantastic! Providing the rational for the answers, along with the rational for the incorrect answers has been an awesome review. I am actually looking forward to taking the exam.

The book was an ok study tool. I got more from the videos than I did the book.

I thoroughly enjoyed that information was placed strategically in charts when applicable to help break up the format and keeping my attention while studying. The charts also acted as a quick reference. This product is perfect because it has all the important information, tips for test taking, as well as a practice exam with detailed rationales. I will be sure to purchase mometrix products for any future exams I might be considering! Would definitely recommend to all other RNs out there!
