See No Evil (Widescreen Edition)

My reason for Buying This Movie is most obvious! WWE Wrestler Kane intrigued me to see his performance. I'm a writer and if there's a person of interest in a movie, I just know I want it. It's not a star filled movie, but Kane brought on the creepy. A very satisfying movie.

not a fan of alot of WWE films but I am a Kane fan and I love this movie definitely worth adding to any horror collection lots of jump scares and suspense

I first watched this around the time it first came out, when I was like 10 or 11 years old. Too young I know! I've always liked this movie, it is a good horror\thriller film. I notice the film got a lot of negative reviews but its just a movie.

While I am a huge Wrestling fan (Pro, Olympics, all that stuff.), I will try to leave out the novelty of Kane (One of the greatest wrestlers of all time) and solely review the movie. Then again, not mentioning Kane's wrestling background for a slasher movie is like not mentioning Billy Joel's singing ability for a musical. Kane already plays a villain on stage, does his own stunts, and is use to being physical, so this movie and role is perfect for him. With the release of Oculus (Another WWE productions movie) I was curious about their first venture in the Slasher/Horror genre. While I'm not a big fan of the other WWE/John Cena movies (The Marine, etc), this movie pleasantly surprised me. It starts out with a flashback-type scenario, which reminded me of the recaps that the older Friday the 13th movies did, where Frank Williams (Steven Vilder), a police officer and his partner Blaine (Corey Parker Robinson) respond to a disturbance call. When they break into the house, they are surrounded by religious symbols and soon encounter the victim of the crime, a young women who had her eyes plucked out. That's when "it" hits the fan. Our villain (Or hero, depending on your mindset), Jacob Goodnight (Kane/Glenn Jacobs) appears and brutally murders Blaine, and tries to do the same with Frank, who manages to shoot Jacob in his hand, but not before his arm is severed. Years later, Frank starts a new job at a prison. He is tasked with taking a group of young delinquents (enter slasher bait) to the homeless-infested Blackwell hotel. After this, it's basic slasher movie formula, with a few exceptions. Some of the people that were killed and saved surprised me. Now, on to the acting. Kane was great as the monster Jacob Goodnight. He was silent, held your attention, and just had a presence. He did all his own stunts (there's that WWE background helping out), and just knew that character he was playing. Most of the other characters were generic, other than Frank and the two final girls, (who had a lot of sexual tension around them). But like I said, most of the characters fell flat. Like that motel owner. She sucked. The CGI was better than others, the direction was good, some of the kills were freakin' insane. There are a few inconsistencies, but none to blatant. As far as special features go, the commentary with Kane was great, one of the best I've heard. There are two trailers, and an awesome storyline history of Kane in the WWE. So to sum everything up, give it a try. You'll enjoy it if you don't expect Shakespeare.

I thought I had this movie because I watched it 3 times when it first came out. I purchased See No Evil 2 then decided to watch the first one again because it is the best. Realized I must of watched this when it first came out on demand or something. So went tolocal fye stores and all were sold out so I ordered this watched it right away. Kane is scary. Role fits him perfectly.

The only reason I bought this was because I missed seeing Christina viral on screen. She is Puerto rican so I HAD to have home copy of this. The movie itself has a pretty simple yet decent plot and back ground. Some pretty scary jump sequences and LOTS OF GORE. THINGS I like :).

I personally loved the movie. I had seen it when I was younger and had to turn to Amazon to find it again. I don't give away plots or information only that it is worth a watch if you are a fan of horror.

At last a good horror film,just as they should be.I must admit i was'nt expecting too much from this film,but i was really suprised.the film starts slowly but builds up the tension as it goes along.some of the scenes really make you jump &the murders and special effects are excellent.If nothing else this film shows you what to do with an overbearing mother.all round an excellent film.
