Wahl Men 79465-224 Extreme Grip (Black)

I'm loving my new product. It's exactly what I needed, and the quality is fantastic.

First thing first - the listing is a bit misleading. This is not a "Pro" model unlike shown in the images. Also it comes with 10 guards instead of those 12 pictured in the listing. However both these points are nitpicks and does not impact the quality or versatility of this device. WAHL Extreme Grip is built like a tank. Though it is not a "Pro" model, it does not feel any lesser than that. It has heavy duty motor, it feels secure in hands and comes with variety of guards (10 to be precise) which are enough to cover most needs. It even includes the tapered ear guards. Apart from the guards, the box includes two combs, two brushes, a tiny bottle of oil and a pair of scissors. Everything is nicely packed in a hard shell container. The guards are of good quality but the same can't be said for other accessories like combs and scissors. This is also an Indian unit with 3-pin plug and warranty valid in India. The only down side is its bit heavy and as it is corded, feels bit difficult to move around. Also a bigger oil bottle would have been better as it is extremely important to keep the blades well-oiled and clean for long lasting life.

I may never go back to barbers again. Product was genuine with all the packaging in factory condition. It is heavy which is a good sign of quality. the grip helps, no sweaty palms. The 10 combs included is superb, especially the 2 combs for left and right behind the ears. Blade is good and sharp, lever to open and close is also fine. The motor is good, after 10 min of use it made buzzing loud noise, I found on the website of wahl under faq that this happens when used outside USA, it suggests to rotate the screw beneath grip anti clockwise to make it suitable for the location. And it worked like charm, no more noise. Smooth cut. Carry case is not sturdy but not bad either. I don’t intend to travel with this anyway.

After a lot of research and mind making between Wahl Home Cut Kit and Wahl Extreme Grip Clipper, I bought the Wahl Extreme Grip Clipper Set. I was so excited to receive this item. The delivery was fast. Once I opened the plastic bag which amazon uses to package most of their products for courier delivery, I realised what mess the poor packing had done to the product. the packaging was very flimsy, that is, not well protected. In one of the reviews I saw online for the above mentioned products, I had noticed that Wahl Extreme Grip comes with a plastic box to store the Clipper and the accessories. Thank God I chose this one as the Home Cut Clipper set comes in a leatherette bag, and that would have not been able to take the beating. Lol. Anyways, the box was damaged, which has left a bad taste in the mouth. Come on, a customer pays good money and in exchange only expects the item to be delivered in pristine condition. I have attached the photos to demonstrate my case, because, this item is not returnable. I have decided not to use the Clipper or open the packaging of the accessories just in case the good people at Amazon decide to get me a replacement, in a good condition hopefully. As far as the reviews I have seen, this is one of the best hair clippers with maximum attachments in the market and the quality of the product definitely does say a lot. Although, the quality of the accessories, they are just about okay. I hope I get to use it and hopefully I am able to recommend it personally as well.

Feels solid & grippy. Clips hair effortlessly. Have been using it for 2 years now. A bit heavy and difficult to move around if using for self-cut, but got used to it pretty quickly. The guards help get the job done perfectly without any concern whatsoever. Strong motor but tends to heats up a bit after around 30-45 minutes of use. Attachments: 10 guards make it quite easy even for self use especially tapered ear guards. The 2 combs were slightly bent and a bit flimsy. 2 brushes for cleaning & a tiny bottle of oil with a pair of scissors. Comes packaged in a hard shell container

Bought this to cut hair at home during the lockdown. It is so good that even when things come back to normal, I will still be using this hair clipper. There are 8 combs for different hair lengths, it is very well made. The make is solid and high performance. You need a power point for it to function. Much better than all those cheap Chinese options around. Go for it, it will be work well for years and years.

My review is more about the seller. CloudNine. 😡 Delivered a rusty old piece. Still it is selling this on Amazon. Of course, Amazon refuned the money. Don't buy from that seller. The product is good but bit heavy and vibrates quite a bit. Couldn't cut the hair myself. My wife did the job. 😊

I wanted to buy this trimmer because of the tapered blades available with it, which is rare to get otherwise. Since I had seen lots of reviews stating that the blades were rusted and loose hairs were seen in the trimmer, I asked the seller (Cloudtail India) whether they are supplying original and new product or not. Unfortunately I didn't get any reply from them. Anyway, I thought of taking a chance and bought the item. Unfortunately, what I got also having rust all over both the blades as seen in the image. The product otherwise is okay to use. However what I got is either an old product or a local make with cheap metal. Otherwise, the blades of such trimmers are not supposed to get rusted. The seller also did not respond to the enquiry of a potential customer. The return window is now closed as I couldn't open the packet immediately after receipt. Overall, a bad purchase. Edit as on 02-07-2022: According to experts in metals, the rusting is expected because Wahl has chosen the metal which will give the best sharpness. Therefore, if you are not getting lose hair particles one may consider it as new, I feel. Using on a regular basis and no issues so far.

Wahl products never disappoint. Used the old set to cut numerous family members hair, and the new model is even better quality. I know it will do us well.
