Scale 1/96 Laser-Cut Wooden Sailboat Model kit: The Harvey 1847 Ship Model

This is the first model boat I've built. However, I am very well read in the subject of traditional wooden boatbuilding. Coming at this project from that subject matter base allows me insight that a total amateur who has no knowledge of boatbuilding might lack. A lot of reviewers bemoan the lack of instructions. Which is not incorrect. There are no instructions with this kit. There are 6 detailed sheets of plans which, quite frankly, are more detailed than a lot of lines drawings and plans for actual wooden boats. If you cannot read plans or blueprints this is not the kit for you. Nobody is going to hold your hand. You have to figure it out yourself, and there is more than enough info in the plans for anybody with a reasonable degree of practical intelligence to do so. This is going to be a beautiful little big ship for me to build while I'm out of work with a broken foot.

This is my second attempt to do this model. I bought from a diffrent seller thevfirstbtime but the results are still the same. Broken and wrapped pieces. Instructions aren't in English and are very vague. I won't be trying again.

I really enjoyed working in this model, and I am quite happy with the result (as you can see in the pictures).You need to be patient because the explanations provided are not very clear and complete, but with using some logic, you can figure it out.Steady hands are required,I would not recommend to beginner, but otherwise for the price it is a very good value.

for a low-cost wooden ship model, it's a pretty good value. HOWEVER, this model will take time to assemble it properly. Not recommended for beginner modelers but if your good an working with small fragile parts, it will turn out nice.

Not enough detail for me.

i was a lil worryed about how off the cuts would be and how things would line up but to my surprise the only mistake and flaws were made by me getting a lil ahead of my self or getting just a lil impatient the instructions are kinda crappy i did only get 3 pages granted whats on the pages are the most important features of the ship such as keel and deck and the mast and sails and how to tie up some of the rigging most of the mistake i made were easily fixed so i love it

This instructions are incomplete. And is trash. A waste of money. It came in a bag without any reference picture .

after assembling parts to the keel, the deck does not match in places it should. Lack of instructions
