Those of us who like to "resurrect" vintage items are always on the lookout for items that compliment the original when you have to replace a part. Old table lamps, torcheres etc. are a classic problem: you have no idea what people have done with the wiring over the years, and lots of people want to re-wire just for safety. With these cords, you get a new, known-good conductor, and an attractive, period-appropriate cloth wrap that improves the esthetics as well. That said, these are only 18 gauge stranded conductors, which is fine for a single bulb lamp, but won't be safe for higher current loads. You should do the math for your application before selecting a wire gauge, and it would be good if the vendor could provide temperature rise/amp capacity tables for the wrapped cords, but other than that, these look great and are easy to install.

I purchased a wall mounted oil lamp from a local antique store in my town. The person who made the lamp used it cheap lamp cord, so I purchased this to replace that. It looks so much more authentic now.

Needed this specific cord to keep the vintage look on a 1937 Radio i am restoring. It's beautiful, well made, but as soon as you start cutting the cottong wrap in order to split the wires to get to you connecting point, the material starts unravelling and slipping down the cord. So my only complaint is the lead wires are not nearly long enough especially when you need to tie a know to hold the cord where no strain relief grommets can be used on old chassis. But otherwise fine product. Great seller, speedy delivery with Amazon Prime.
