Wiha26199 Slotted and Phillips Screwdriver Set in Rugged Canvas Pouch, 8 Piece

This is a good foundation kit, with four each slot and Philips drivers in Wiha's nice precision handles, though I'm pretty sure I ordered an eight ct. Slotted set in roll kit instead of what I received. I did consider returning them but Amazon seems to have made it's menu for buyers, bullet proof when its time to report back outside it's very limited FAQs.These are great tools, but if you work on Hasselblad, be aware the blades are a bit too beefy to fit small screws slots, so be aware, that to use these for those camera's and/or lenses, a very fine Dremel tool or diamond file, is needed to give a better concave geometry to the blades.I am buying more, I'd already bought others, and I'll fill out my kit, one set at a time.Be sure to check out the longer 75-100mm and 150-200mm drivers as well, as longer shafts really are needed to work above the 25-40mm limits of the typical small blade offerings in this and other makers home repair sets.By-the-way, the squareness if the blades, especially the 1mm and 0, 00, 000 size flats is perfect, as is.You really can no go wrong buying quality tools, and Wiha make Quality tools, as they've soon with these.IMO.IMO.

All tips are in perfect condition.I used the extra space inside the pouch to add the screwdrivers from the Wiha 26197 kit that I also purchased. There is some overlap between the two kits but that is Ok as screwdrivers do wear out over time.I also got an extra screwdriver in my set. No complains :)

I've never owned a set of precision tools, so I did take a little time to research which brands were reputable which is when I came across Wiha. It looks like I made the right choice by choosing them. Solid tips, no squeaky rotating caps, and not a single stripped screw because these drivers fit like a glove for all the screws I've used them on. The even better part to me is no stripping of the drivers themselves on the screws that required an insane amount of torque. And believe me, using the cheap tools issued by my company, I've stripped many drivers in the past. Some drivers have even snapped on me! I know that a few weeks of use isn't much to really attest to the quality of these tools, but so far from my using them, the quality is already notable.And not only did the tools arrive in a timely manner, the customer support for this Vendor (Micro-Tools?) was a breeze to work with. I had a defective PH0 in my set that caused the rotating cap didn't smoothly rotate. Not annoying at a higher speeds, but when I'm torquing slowly, it can stop the driver from spinning.Although I contacted them out of business hours, I promptly received an email from their support 15 minutes after they were open for business. I relayed by problem with them and they gladly sent me a replacement PH0. What's even better was it wasn't JUST the driver. It had the factory packaging as if they pulled it off their own sales floor. Its the little details like that which are just missing from online purchases. I was glad I bought such a great set from them, and thankful for them adding a more personal touch even though we are on completely different coasts.Glad I worked with them!

This review is being written 3/3/2013 for the Wiha 26199 Slotted and Phillips Screwdriver Set in Rugged Canvas Pouch, 8 Piece sold and shipped by Amazon.Overall, I'm happy with this set and believe it is of very good quality.I've read the reviews about imperfections and I took a closer look (posted some photos, too). It's true that the line is visible on the handle from the molding of the two halves. However, this is not overly objectionable to me, and does not interfere with the usage in my case. Also, the rotating caps all work well on my set. As far as misalignment goes, it's minor, nothing worthy of a return for me, very small wobble on 2 out of the 8. I do acknowledge that these items may be more important for other consumers, and the imperfections may be worse than in my experience.The quality of the steel seems quite good, hard and with bit ends that grip the fastener well. This is the main reason I wanted a better set compared to the commonly available inexpensive sets. The shaft finish is a satin sheen, and I'm wondering how well this will stand up to rust compared to shiny chrome. Time will tell.The canvas pouch is thick with company logo imprinted and aligned in a professional manner. There are a few loose threads which do not bother me. I had not originally paid attention that this is indeed not a roll pouch. It folds in half from left to right.At this price, I don't expect perfection, but in terms of usability and overall quality it's a good choice for me.

Exactly what I was looking for! They are very very well made. The handles are of such great quality when I first got them I thought they were metal. I couldn’t find a cheap set with these sizes and driver length that I felt comfortable buying. They were either the small tip interchangeable driver bits or the set was cheaply made and too expensive for what it was, I’m sure if I looked a bit longer I might’ve found them but I didn’t. The metal in the actual driver is amazingly durable they magnetize very well. The pouch they come in is very nice, although I was really hoping they would come in the green pouch Luke the original sets. But that’s all trivial stuff. If you need this specific set of length and size go with this set! For the price and quality you won’t regret it!
