Billy Joel: Greatest Hits, Vol. 3

Very enjoyable CD. Good quality and a lot of good songs you will enjoy. I enjoy on my road trips.

This review (mostly) is about the pressing. But let me talk about the music real quick. This is Billy Joel greatest hits vol. 3. It picked up exactly where vol. 2 left of. The songs are excellent, except for Shameless, because Garth Brooks’ cover just so much better than this original and the new songs, which I didn’t care much. The pressing of the LP however, is definitely the reason you might want to get this version. It’s pricey compare to other greatest hits double LP albums but I got it during Amazon buy 3 get 1 free. This is one of the best sounding LP that I have. I basically have to turn volume a little bit lower because of how loud the sound of this vinyl - in a good way. You hear a balance between Billy Joel’s voice and the music. And if you care about color of the vinyl, this one has a bright yellow gold color - very bright and pretty. I would be fine with just black. But as long as the sound is good, I am happy. I wish they would reissue vol 1 and vol 2 and repressed it like this version.

I'm glad to have this record on vinyl! I'm working on getting Billy Joel's entire discography on vinyl and this one puts me that much closer to the goal. Not many left to go now! I didn't even know this one was available. I decided to look for this one on vinyl just by chance and pre-ordered it the day before it was released. However, here's my complaint...and this is what cost the review a star. There's evidently a manufacturer defect where the vinyl has blemishes inside the material that look like sharpie marks. I had to return mine two times and each time, it was worse. I'd like to know if anyone else has had this issue with this record.

Billy Joel - Greatest Hits Vol. 3 is very good. I return to time and again and it has really grown on me and seems to have really improved with time. "The Downeaster Alexa" really makes this album for me. It is yet another one of those songs that defines Billy Joel. He delivers this song with such drive, energy and feeling. It makes you feel like you are part of something special and unique. Billy Joel puts you on the deck of the Downeaster Alexa. You feel the struggle against the elements and the challenges of the common man to make ends meet. You can feel this drive and feeling, sensitive or just full of energy on almost every song on this album.

Really love this CD. Has all my favorites and more that have become my must-listen-to's.Very happy with this purchase.
