I was looking for a lap desk to use either in the bed or hanging out on the couch and after many searches on Amazon decided to go with this memory foam lap desk. Even after reading the reviews I was a little Leary of what it would look like bc the picture is not very telling. However I absolutely LOVEEEE everything about this product. As other reviewers have noted it is a high quality product that is not well portrayed through the sellers photos. It looks significantly better in person. It has a desk size large enough for an iPad, papers or binder. Although it isn't the largest lap desk out there it meets my needs. My mac 13 inch fits more than comfortably. The desk side does not slide and the memory foam back has a great material that does not include the many out there with the cheap material. Overall, I was very very happy with this product and its price!

Yes! Finally a lapdesk with a slip-resistant top, and a better cushion material than those stupid 'bead' things that always find a way to come out of the seams. My 13" Macbook fits perfectly, and it does not slide around like it does on those pure plastic ones. Also slim enough to use on a many chairs with arms - yay!Note, I say "slip resistant" rather than non-slip, as the desktop is still somewhat smooth, and if you want to work at an extreme angle, your laptop will probably slide. But at a modest angle, no movement. I compare this to a leather-topped more expensive lap desk I used prior, which provided better non-slip functionality at an extreme angle, including enough non-slip effect to safely put a ceramic coffee cup on it while I worked at a modest angle. I would not place a ceramic coffee cup on this desk - too slippery. But the leather one was pricier, and the beads came out of the seams (so I had to duct tape around the edges - so much for the fancy look....Anyway, this is a great lap desk for a reasonable price! Very happy.

I'm very pleased with my choice in purchasing the Sofia and Sam mini lap desk. They over two different sizes of their lap desks and the smaller one seemed perfect for my needs. But don't let the word "mini" throw you off. It's perfect for a tablet but is large enough to hold a laptop. The quality of materials is exceptional. The surface, although glossy in appearance doesn't lend to my tablet sliding about. The filling in the body of this lap desk is firm and I have confidence that it will hold up with continued use. It's designed on an angle which fits perfectly on your lap to keep the top surface level. The carrying handle is a nice convenience in lifting it for use. I keep it standing vertically near my beside and reach for it whether it be use of my tablet, writing, or enjoying a snack. This would make such a lovely and thoughtful gift for someone or yourself. Only after using it will you come to wonder how you managed before it.

First, this is a good quality mini lap desk at a reasonable price. It actually works for my 17.3 inch HP Envy. The edgse of the laptop do extend over the edge just a bit, but I did not want a lap desk that took up a ton of space so this works well for me. My laptop does have little rubber holders on the bottom. (If it didn't it might slide a bit.) The grey is a classic color though the top does have a little sparkle. Not a lot. I think it's attractive and complements my silver metal laptop. The seams are well constructed and the handle sits flush nicely.

What I like about this lapdesk is its size and shape and that it is well made. So it is functional and convenient. What I found not good is that my Apple Pro slides around on it, especially when I try to set it down when I was getting up. This problem I remedied by gluing a piece of wooden dowel that I planed flat on one side to glue it on the uppermost part of the lapdesk. The manufacturer might want to think of something like this to improve their product which is good but could be made better.

I have a 13" Macbook and this lap desk is perfect for me. I have a little space around all edges of the Macbook, not enough to use a separate mouse, but I don't use one. Fits great in my lap while sitting in a chair with a narrow opening between the arms. The top surface is smooth and suitable for drawing, but not overly slick -- the rubber feet on the bottom of my computer keep it from sliding. The bottom cushion is covered with a fine mesh fabric (reminds me of some running shorts) and filled with a solid piece of foam. It isn't very stiff foam and has a nice feel in your lap. There's a slight incline in the surface since the foam is thicker toward the back, but it tilts your computer toward you at a comfortable angle.This purchase replaces a lap desk about the same size that had horrible styrofoam bead filling in the cushion. After about 6 months, the beads compressed and the cushion was so under-filled that it became sloppy, uncomfortable and unstable. I don't know if all styrofoam beads will do this, but I don't think I'll chance it again. I'm hoping the foam in this Sofia + Sam lap desk doesn't compress over time.

I ordered the silver and received a black lap desk with silver sparkles ... the memory foam is very nice but disappointed that I didn’t receive what I ordered as it’s for a Christmas gift!

I gave this as a gift to my wife for use in the Living Room at home. She had been perching her laptop on the arm of the chair, typing to her side ... very uncomfortable. The Sofia & Sam Mini was the perfect size for her 15” MacBook Pro. I was concerned that the laptop would slide on the top, but the laptop’s feet keep it in place without issue. The cushioning is exactly what you want - not too much, not too little, and angled just right. Slim and small enough for travel, big enough for home.Well-made, too.Recommended!
