Is this the "g513" or "g512"? the title says "g513" but everything else refers to the "g512".

A little late but g513 and g512 are the same but the g513 comes with the palm rest

Can the palmrest be detached and reattached easily, or is it permenantly fixed to the rest of the keyboard?

Extremely easily detached, there's nothing that actually connects them, it just sits in front. It's comfortable and doesn't slip around easily.

One review says the symbols are not on the side of the F-Keys as illustrated and they also do not light up, is that correct please?

The symbols ARE on the side of the F keys but they do NOT light up. I wouldn't buy this keyboard anyway because the black comes off them really fast. Logitech eventually sent me a replacement but the same will happen again in a few months no doubt.
