Hero Universal Microchip Scanner, Reads ISO and Non-ISO Chips

This scanner is very lightweight , compact, easy to charge, and a universal chip scanner, for this quality, value is worth it..

I was a bit skeptical when I first bought this product. This was mostly because the microchip reader I was told to buy was an industrial, however, that one was sold out at the time, so I purchased this one. I opened the box, put in the battery, and immediately scanned my animals. It worked for microchips over 14 years of age and as little as a few weeks. I further confirmed this when I went to the municipal shelter. It works fast and accurately. I am confident that it will work on almost all, if not all chips out there. I would recommend this scanner if you want an all-around good product/good value!

It is easy to use for scanning, and it accurately picked up my own two cats chips I tested it with. I use it when stray cats try to live in my yard so I can try to figure out who owns them, and get them returned. One thing I wish they would improve is it needs better instructions on how to use it with your phone and bluetooth, I had to search in these reviews q & A's and review comments to find out (works with my iphone's Notes app that comes with the phone, the chip # will go to the phone when you scan, as long as you have the phone in your pocket or nearby. )

Returned. Worked fine but I discovered I had recorded my pets' ID numbers on a file on my computer and the vet also had them and they agreed so I returned the device without using it.

I do cat trapping for neutering. We find a lot of friendly cats on the street also and I offer to scan animals that other neighbors find. So far so good with this item. I don't use it super frequently so it often needs to be charged when I do want to use it. It does take a little bit of time to charge. But the Bluetooth feature is really fantastic. It sends the scan results straight to my iPhone Notes app. No need to scramble to get a pencil.

Tested the Hero Pet microchip reader and it works as expected. It was easy to use and read the chip without any issues. Quick, reliable, and does exactly what it’s supposed to — a great tool to have on hand for pet owners. I do wish it was a little more affordable so more people could keep one around. It’s a useful device that could really make a difference in getting lost pets home faster.

I love this scanner! Works well, seems to work everytime. The beeper is not loud enough for me but I do have hearing loss. The only trouble I find is that I cannot find more rechargeable batteries with a USB port. I would like to have a spare. I would have purchased a Hero pocket reader to fit in my purse but wasn't sure if it would be the same quality.

This microchip scanner is amazing. I chose this one because it reads all typed of US chips. I tested it on 6 of my own animals, who are all rescues and have chips from varying companies. It found all of them. Then the true test - I tried it on a stray dog and no chip was detected. The true value in this scanner is that you can trust that if it does not detect a chip, the animal is not chipped. With other scanners you never know if the animal is not chipped or if it is a type of chip that the scanner cannot read. Definitely worth the price.

The battery life is so short. Do not recommend at all!
