They are still my favorite!!!
Their newest album is so good!!! Coldplay never dissappoints!!! My review philosophy: As a longtime customer of Amazon, I depend on others' honest reviews. I do my best to provide that same courtesy to others. I purchase lots of items through Amazon, some I get for free, some I get at a discounted rate, and some I pay full price. I will always disclose if I receive an item for free or a discounted rate. I do a lot of reviews so here is a break down on how I determine my star rating of a product: 5 stars – I love it! It is awesome and I highly recommend everyone to purchase this product! 4 stars – I like it, but there are some flaws. Don't we all have flaws? I would purchase again. 3 stars - It was okay, but I would probably not buy it again unless there are no other options. 2 stars – There may be worse products out there, but you can definitely find better choices. 1 star – I dislike the product, I wish I had not purchased it and recommend others to not purchase.

A colorful flair of melodies
If one did not know who sang “Adventure of a Lifetime” there probably would not be doubts from diehard Coldplay fans accustomed to their raw guitar, bass, drums, and vocal driven energy from past albums. However, once the doubts have faded, listeners may consider A Head Full of Dreams as one of their most progressive albums after Mylo Xyloto; this record may appear to be a continuation to where that record left off, especially by the album artwork of very multi-color fluorescent display. Aside from appearance, the music speaks for itself. The band and producers Stargate and Rik Simpson have produced a creative mix of songs. The entire album has a memorable set of 11 songs that may automatically cling to anyone. A few of the highlights include the catchy and danceable “Adventure of a Lifetime,” the two songs that include guest vocals “Hymn for a Weekend” with Beyonce and “Fun” that features Tove Lo that has soft overtones and echoes of “Viva La Vida,” the band has not abandoned the drums and guitars and “Army of One” has that Coldplay sound, and the concluding song “Up and Up” undeniably says it all about the album. A Head Full of Dreams is a musical departure from the previous Ghost Stories that contained too much of an atmospheric and dark and experimental tone. One may say that this record is rejuvenation for lead vocalist and songwriter Chris Martin and the band, a celebration or as the inner liner notes and photograph of the band shows and declares, “love is universal” as is music. In the words of William Shakespeare “If music be the food of love, play on.”

Beautiful Music, Beautiful Record!
This is one of my favorite Coldplay albums so far. It is certainly still the typical Coldplay sound that fans have enjoyed for more than a decade, but there seems to be a little something extra! I love it. The lyrics aren't always traditional and they read more like uncontemporary poetry sometimes. I think that's part of what makes me love it. Everglow is one of my new favorite songs now. If you have ever lost someone, you will definitely relate and if you are emotional like me, you might just shed a tear or two. You know it is good music when you can really feel it in your heart. I would highly recommend this record to anyone with a record player. The music is wonderful, and the vinyl is also fun colors! Can't beat that little addition :)

COLDPLAY'S WONDERFUL "A HEAD FULL OF DREAMS"!
After the remarkable GHOST STORIES album, the expectations for A HEAD FULL OF DREAMS were high. I am happy to say that COLDPLAY met and exceeded them. What a wonderful set of songs that only get better & better after listening to it over time. The entire album is uplifting and positive, which makes a long road trip go fast. The song "Up & Up" might be one my all-time favorite songs by the band. There are so many great tunes to enjoy. Thank you Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion. Coldplay rocks.

Coldplay is a once in a generation band
Generational Band with another great album release. The songs on this release range from rock to alternative to synth pop to electronic, and everything fused in between. Chris Martin's fluid and lyric tenor voice glides through another smattering of instant rock and pop favorites, along with a couple possible anthem rock icons (Up & Up and Adventure of a Lifetime have very catchy riffs). Everglow showcases Martin's vocal range, and Hymn for the Weekend may be the most recognizable single from this album. In short, nearly every song is catchy with a hook that will have you humming at your desk for days.

Give it a few listens first before judging
I admit it took a few listens, which is why I really like the album. I purchased the vinyl version and the packaging is creative. I especially like the colored vinyl, one pink and one blue. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the song writing has taken a step back but the sound quality, musicianship, and production are excellent. "Hymn for the Weekend" (track 3) I can definitely do without. I don't think Beyonce and Coldplay mix well at all but maybe the younger crowd will like that song. "Everglow", "Adventure of a Lifetime" and "Army of One" are my favorite tracks. "Adventure of a Lifetime" is arguably their most commercially successful track on this album and it's only a matter of time before we start hearing it in department stores and grocery stores. Ughhhh but that's just the way it goes. I've been listening to Coldplay since the beginning and I still prefer their older material but I've a lot of respect for this band and, after a few listens, do enjoy their latest album and am happy to own it, especially the vinyl version. Really cool addition to my collection.

Vinyl is the only way to go
I have never been a Colplay fan. Most of what I have heard from them in the past in watered down girl music. That is, until I heard this album. I was enjoying listening to the digital version until the vinyl showed up... today. OMG. Nothing sounds like vinyl. The music is so crisp and clear. I could almost think that this album was addictive, but I think its the vinyl that is addictive. Nice album guys. Everglow sounds especially nice on vinyl.

The vinyls came regular black instead of coloured but I emailed the customer service and they were beyond helpful offering either to replace or refund. They're checking now for a replacement coloured vinyls and should send it in two weeks if it's in stock, plus they let me keep the ones I received too as I'm in Egypt and the return costs would have been very costly. They also upgraded the delivery time for another order I made, which was gratuitous of them. The album overall is very different from their first few, defining albums, so don't listen to it expecting something similar and you won't be disappointed. It follows smoothly from Mylo Xyloto and Ghost Stories, but it still stands on its own legs. I fervently hope it's not their last album, but if it is, it's well-worthy of that stature. Hymn for the Weekend is my favourite so far. It has it all, the poetic lyrics, the wonderful tune, Chris's sublime vocals, Beyonce's subtle voice in the background. It is both mellow and upbeat. Perfect in my opinion. Fun has a strong beat that suits the vocals smoothly. Again, Tove Lo's background voice takes it to another level, I can't stop listening to it. Army of One is one of the songs that sounds quite new to me and I can't relate it to their other songs. It shows how the band evolved from its previous albums. Adventure of a Lifetime is quite lively and follows in the footsteps of A Sky Full of Stars. It's at a slightly higher tempo on the LP than it is in the music video (which I happen to find playful and well-designed) A Head Full of Dreams is upbeat and dancy and Chris's "OH" near the end, with the rest of the band's backing vocals, creates a picture of a packed concert with the entire crowd singing along in perfect harmony. Everglow is very mellow and deep, kind of like O from Ghost Stories, which I believe is one of their masterpieces. Birds is a catchy tune that fits nicely in the joyful theme of the album. Amazing Day sounded like a choir song which makes it one of the more relaxed/calming songs on the album. Up&Up is just another impeccable close to another great album. The tune was very melodic with a steady reviving beat. Hope that was helpful!
