Beyond that, I was a little worried at order that the magnetism wouldn’t be strong enough to secure all my knives. I see now that my worries were totally unfounded; the knife bar seems to be utility strength and has more than enough grip to hold all my knives, scissors and honing rod. Installation was also straightforward and easy. I would strongly recommend following their directions on hand tightening by screwdriver. I can see how a drill would risk cracking the wood because of over torquing. I am overall very happy with this product, and it was worth the wait for the custom length. Review: The magnetic pull is all across the surface! - We’ve tried a few magnetic strips and blocks and this is the first one that is not only strong, but it’s constant all across the bar, including the ends. This one is a keeper. We had this one custom fitted for under our cabinet and it holds all of our knives including our steak knives! It’s 26” long.
