These were great! Hands down my favorite sardines I’ve tried, so tasty. The quality was fanatastic with no strong smell. The tomato base was my favorite. Will purchase again.

I recently saw a video about Portuguese sardines and had to try them. If you like sardines this is a treat you won’t want to miss. They are priced quite a bit higher than the ones I usually buy but I would buy them again for a special treat. They are definitely worth the price. This variety four pack allows you to sample four flavors, hand packed, some with spices and sauce. You won’t be disappointed.

Sooooo good. The tomato ones are fantastic. They’re not terribly fishy. These are fat little fish. Jumbo sardines. I kept the paper from one to frame and hang in the kitchen, too. I believe these to be high-quality sardines. Try them.

The sardines are savory. The best sardines are the green sardines with olive oil and chillies. I like that one better because its has a mildly spiced flavor. Its good to eat with freshly made steam rice and a side off eggs. It is delicious with pasta with roasted garlic. The sardines with tomatoes are delicious but its mild and not spicy at all. Its good with rice too but the olive oil sardines is better.

Just meaty enough, and nicely flavored. Only lost a star because I had a negative reaction to one of the tins, which indicates possible cross-contamination somewhere (I have a minor whitefish allergy usually not triggered by oily little guys like sardines, anchovies, etc).

My son sent me two packs of these sardines in a food gift basket. They were the best canned sardines I ever tasted so I immediately ordered a four pack on Amazon. Definitely my go to sardines.

I never really thought much about the quality of tinned Sardines in general. After watching a segment on the Saturday Morning CBS news last weekend, my interest was piqued. This Portuguese family generational company PINHAIS has such an interesting tradition. The brand of these Portuguese Sardines is called NURI. I bought the varied 4 pack which includes Sardines in Olive Oil, Sardines in Spiced Olive Oil, Sardines in Tomato Sauce, and Sardines in Spiced Tomato Sauce. Each can is hand wrapped in artful paper and packed by Women. I decided to first eat the Spiced Sardines in Olive Oil. Absolutely delicious with fresh baguette slices. Had a kick but not overwhelming. Next up will be one of the Tomato Sauced. I will never again buy the store bought brands. If you are a fan of Blue Fish, I believe you will be truly satisfied. This imported brand is a keeper! BTW, be careful what you click on or you may end up (as one person mentioned) with 48 cans!!!!! Double check your cart…. That’s all folks. These sardines are delicious. Better than anything I can find in the stores.
