I decided that buying a globe would be an excellent way to help me enhance my geographical knowledge. Viewing a location on a globe of the earth provides a perspective more revelatory than a cell phone lookup. I bought two globes: one to have close by my reading chair, and one for a third grade teacher in my family. The globes were very well packed and arrived without blemish. The countries and oceans are clearly and accurately detailed.

This globe has what you want for a simple globe. No fancy lights, etc. Everything is marked appropriately. To understand geography I believe you need a globe. The size of Greenland is the common example of how 2D maps fail us (2D maps make Greenland look significantly bigger). With this globe you can see that Russia is three times the size of the US and make similar true comparisons.

We got it for our 5yo daughter for Christmas. We love it. As our family moved all over the world we can teach her where who lives.

I upgraded to this 12-in model from my old 9-in diameter Replogle globe. With 78% more surface area, the thousands of listed locations are so easy to read compared to my last globe, and I love how you can feel the topography of the mountain ranges. Now, whenever my 9-year-old daughter has a question about geography, I just show her on the globe. Additionally, I love how this particular model has all of the US states listed as well, which you don't find on every globe.

I only took one star away only because I wished they’d have offered a bigger one. I put my reading glasses on and then everything is perfect. Besides that, I love it. The wood base is beautiful. It’s just the right size and doesn’t look cheap, like someone else mentioned. I’m very satisfied.

This is an amazing classic globe just like the ones in classrooms when I was a kid. You can feel the raised mountains and there are a ton of details that are easy to read. My kids love it!

This is great globe for my international students. They can show where they live and places where they have been. I like how this globe shows the division lines of the USA most globes now don’t have that just the continent and says state but not the borders. Works well and came in a nice box for storage for moving.

Since it’s smaller than I thought, the letters are harder to read. My eyes are 66 years old and I need a magnifying glass. I feel it should be larger for $60.
