Purple like royalty, very rich color with slight translucency (can apply heavier coat)
I always have good results with Speedball products. If you use them as the label guides you, High in High fire, Low in Low fire, and stay within the recommendations, these are almost foolproof. Some will run a bit more than others, so read the specs and think in advance how you should apply them. Some need heavier applications than others, or one coat may be all you need. Read information on the products, make notes when you do test chips and for each new use. You will find consistency is the key to every good outcome. This product needs to be gently but well stirred before the 1st brushed application. Or if you have enough to dip, this is a good glaze for that.

Clear even at cone 10
this is a clear glaze that is supposed to be for cone 6 only. I however tried it at cone 10 do to others recommendations that it still stays clear at cone 10. And I was pleasantly surprised that it was clear. It did not leave any milky or cloudy consistency that other supposed clear glazes do. Thus this worked great over slip scriffito designs.

A Decent Clear Glaze
I use a clear glaze for the bottom of my pots over an underglaze stamp. I was running out of my super clear and needed a quick fix. After reading reviews, I thought it was certainly worth a try. As many had mentioned before, the glaze was a bit thick on arrival. Easy fix. For this last run, I had a mix of Georgie's Super Clear and Speedball Clear. They were comparable at a casual glance and honestly I had forgotten which pots had which glaze. Keep in mind that I am only glazing the bottom of my pots with the clear. <shrug> It works fine and for the cost, the product is a good value. I will most likely buy it again.

Best clear glaze around !
This is the only clear glaze I've found so far that does not cause Amaco velvet underglazes to run when brushed on. Because it is a thick, gel-like glaze, it's easy to apply and, because it's pink, I love that you can see where you have/have not applied the glaze. It's a staple among my ceramic supply "must haves".

Great Glaze, Good Customer service
I am a ceramics student and I use Amaco underglazes with this clear. The clear was a bit thick so I had to mix it before applying it which was not a problem ,but for some reason this dragged the purple, blue, and pink colors. I did call the underglaze company and they said those colors tend to do that so maybe it wasn't the clear after all. Also I did order two jars of this glaze and I received one cone 6 and one cone 06. I did not want cone 06 they sent that by mistake to me. So I returned it. It was easy I have never returned anything before but all I had to do was show the UPS drop off my return label and they shipped it back for me. So the return policy was easy to deal with here. It came out glossy and thick.Overall the clear applied nicely and covered all nooks so it makes it easy to use with food safe material. I would give it 5 stars but they shipped the wrong glaze at first. Easy to return though..

Love this shiny clear glaze
When I first purchased this, I had problems. It was too thick and clumpy, and if I didn’t wait long enough between coats, it would thin, pull the previous coat, or it would pool near the bottom and fire opaque/white. USER ERROR! Yes, it is too thick, but that’s good as you get close to three times what you bought because it always needs thinning. Don’t apply a second coat until the first is completely dry, as in 100% dry. No cheating. Apply glaze horizontally if the first coat was vertical. Apply three coats only if the glaze has been thinned to a very thin state as it won’t be likely to clump/pool and become opaque/white.

Garbage. Burns out speedball red underglaze sat cone 6
This whole heart was dark red. It turned yellow wherever the clear glaze touched it, burned out the reds on a ton of work. Didn’t affect other colors. Ruined a bunch of student work. Thanks speedball, this is obviously not a normal clear glaze. Maybe don’t sell it as one.

It’s great- follow directions
Almost all of the poor reviews seen here can be chalked up to user error. Yes, this glaze is thick and gelatinous. This just means you get more for free compared to other brands. Scoop some into a little bowl, add a bit of water and stir until it’s smooth and quite fluid. Smooth and fluid! Apply with a soft fan brush in thinner layers. Don’t allow the glaze to pool in big lumps. If you have deep sgraffito or carving I recommend spraying or applying in a dabbing motion with a clean new sponge to get even coverage without thick pools of glaze. If you think it’s too thick it probably is. I know we are taught to gloop the brushing glazes on but it’s not necessary with this product. I have great results every time with this clear glaze. I use primarily Amaco underglazes and have had zero issues. Give me the pink stuff.

It starts out pink so you can tell where you paint it, then after firing to Cone 6, it is clear. I only use 1 or 2 coats.

Llego súper! El material es algo espeso como gel por lo que sólo pude aplicarlo a las piezas con pincel. En general quedaron súper bien las piezas al salir del horno!

The glaze is not smooth and it’s not brush friendly . It’s really wired to use and no matter if u try to brush a thin layer .. u will not achieve it as it’s . Because its so thick when brush it
