Great customer service. For some reason the unit I got from Amazon wasn't working properly. Could not ID the problem as it would not activate or deactivate or got stuck in the power loss cycle. Wifi was working perfectly. Credit to the company for shipping me a replacement unit directly before trying to resolve the issue. Needed it for my nano fish tank for when I'm out.

There was an issue with my initial power failure detector, but after sending an email to the team I very promptly received a response and a replacement product was immediately shipped at no expense. This replacement unit has worked flawlessly - great product and phenomenal customer service and support.

Can't believe I waited this long to purchase this device. I store my motorhome about 15 miles from home. It is plugged in to maintain the batteries charged. Unfortunately, every once in awhile I lose power. Prior to having this device, I would not know that had happened until the batteries went dead and the hot spot I have there lost power. Now I am notified immediately. Very easy to set up if you follow the directions.

Easy set up. Have tested it a few times and it seems to work flawlessly.

The good news is that the MySpool basic "Power Failure Detector with Text Message and Email Alerts" was fairly easy to set up. And, it did detect a power outage within a few minutes.The bad news (as other reviewers have said) is that it only sends out one set of alerts (texts and email) just one time. If you miss that alert, or don't receive that one message, too bad. There is no second message an hour, or even 24 hours, later. The other odd thing that happened to me is that, after a few test runs, the messages got reversed. When the power went out, a "power on" message was sent. When power was restored, a "power off" message was sent. This is a total deal breaker for me as I'm monitoring a remote cottage and cannot have any confusion or guesswork. I cannot recommend using this alert for remote applications.

I'm always concerned about devices like this, especially after reading the reviews, but so far the My Spool Power Failure Detector works as expected. I just bought this 2 weeks ago and it works and I've had no issues since I installed it! I get email notices whenever the power goes off and come back on. (As I'm writing this, I don't think I get text alerts, so I might need to check my settings)Like any IoT device, the initial set up is 'finicky'. It took me a few attempts to get it connected to my network, mainly because my device (Google Pixel phone) wouldn't open the browser window needed to enter my WiFi credentials. Again, not MySpool's problem and exactly the same 'finicky' connection issue I have with all my other devices that require you to connect to via WiFi. (Note: you connect your phone to My Spool device via WiFi like connecting to any WiFi router, not Bluetooth, then you enter your home WiFi credentials, then it will disconnect from your phone and connects to your home WiFi router. Just keep trying, it does work!

I'm using this with our Harvest Right Freeze Dryer which annoyingly does not have any remote alert capability. I plugged in before the dryer pump and customized the email to say "freeze dryer is drying". It also sends an alert after pump shuts off indicating that freeze cycle is complete.
