Works with what you want it to…
Easy to set up , so far reliable on both Alex and apple home, don’t know how they will do over time but hopefully for the money they will be worth it

Works with HomeKit
I've just purchased another of these smart plugs and felt compelled to leave a review to help others considering buying one.The plug is nicely packaged and well made. It feels solid though quite large but not enough to obscure other sockets. Although I've not shown a photo they are quite deep measuring 4cm when plugged in.The packaging is good and the instructions supplied are in good English and easy to understand.I already have another two of these and so far they have been very reliable in use although the set up was a bit troublesome. On this occasion the Installation was made using an iPhone 6s with IOS 14.5.1. The first issue was that the plug wouldn't pair so I turned off the router firewall to see if that would help but it made no difference.Because I already had the two plugs showing on the Home app I decided to remove them and start from fresh.I re-read the instructions and it does say if you have pairing problems you should 'restart your IOS device due to a system cache issue'. I think it would be helpful if they suggested that in the first instance to alleviate any problems.I did as suggested and managed to pair all 3 plugs without any problem, with and without the router firewall on.Once paired by scanning the QR code on the side of the plug it was easy from thereon. The Home app just took you through the process of naming the plug and giving its location...job done! All in all these are worth considering and a lot cheaper than some of the competitors too.I think they could make the pairing process a bit more reliable but other than that a good product.

easy to set up
These are easy plug and play device to set up, the only issue i have come across is that sometimes you have to unplug and plug it again to get it to work.

Small, convenient smart-plug - excellent for use with Apple's HomeKit
I had a wall light that came with no mechanical on/off switch. Worse, the trailing socket that was fixed in place that it connected to, didn't either. So to operate the light, I had to physically disconnect and reconnect the mains plug itself - which was far from ideal.I purchased this meross device on the combination of it being relatively inexpensive and that it supported Apple's HomeKit.Once it arrived - I tried to do the usual wi-fi connection-to-device routine of using the router's WPS function. That didn't appear to work. I then read in the manual that this device specifically operates on the 2.4Ghz frequency and not 5Ghz. So, I temporarily disabled the 5Ghz channel and tried again - still no luck. The above was attempted using the 'Add device' option with in the Home app on the iPhone itself. Each attempt, saw it time-out with no success by scanning the QR code on the side of the smart plug.Ensuring that Bluetooth was switch on my iPhone - I did the following in order to get it to work...Opened up the Home app.Clicked on the small '+' in the top right corner.Clicked on the first option - Add AccessoryIgnored the 'Scan a Setup Code' and 'Hold iPhone Near Accessory' options and instead, clicked on the orange option that says 'More options...'Stood near the smart plug with Bluetooth enabled on the phone, the meross device appeared there. You then have the option to type in the device number - printed on the side of the smart plug itself above the QR code. It should be an 8-digit number. It then goes through the syncing process and asks you to give the smart plug a name to recognise it in the Home app.The above worked fine for me - which personally I found to be a LOT more secure than using meross's own app that requires a login to be created, access to your Bluetooth on your phone and network discovery of devices in your home. Thanks, but no thanks!A good device that I'd have no issue in buying additional units of - should the need arise.UPDATE - bought two more of these a few days ago and then spent over two hours trying to connect them. What was most frustrating was that using either the Home App on my iPhone or the slightly unsavoury Meross app - with each attempt, the plugs were half-installed. I could identify them on the network, but couldn't actually control them.I was on the router - disabled the 5Ghz band to enforce 2.4Ghz compatibility as required. Reset both plugs several times and tried manually adding them via the numeric code on the side and scanning the QR code also. Nothing worked.I was on the verge of returning them to Amazon when as a last ditch 'on/off' attempt - I decided to restart the router. Once done, I managed to reset both plugs once more and then this time, they connected fine within the Home App by scanning the QR codes.Note to anyone having connection issues with these - try bouncing your router before you start!

Improved with age
Well recommended. I use it on a table lamp that has an electrical socket behind the sofa out of reach.I bought this plug 2 years ago, it worked great at first was easy to connect to WiFi with clear instructions but would lose connection after a few mths, I was getting fed up of reconnecting it to my WiFi and re-adding it to Alexa, so decided against getting any more...But! I'm not sure if my WiFi has improved or if there's been a firmware update as I noticed it no longer has an issue and I haven't had to deal with reconnecting it for about 12mths. I'd completely forgotten about it tbh, so now I'm going to order another to save my back from crawling on the floor to get to the sockets behind the Xmas tree. In fact I not long ago bought new extension cables and now wish I'd bought the meross smart ones!
