Great
Works great. Would be nice to know why people gave it one star. I'll update if i run into problems.Update 1: Mid October (had about 2 months).Battery still works great, run them over night (sleep in them) capacity is the same as original battery. I'll update again in a few months or as soon as i have issues.Update 2: I bought this September 2020. Just letting you know in my xm3 it is 6/24/22 i sleep in the headphones so at least 8 hours a day. This battery still works great being replaced in 2020. I am finding that it's still dropping by 10% every eight hours. 100-90% or so.I so far have judged capacity to be the same buy running it over night and measuring percentage, but i 'll update if that turns out to not hold up. Also please note it takes months of high usage before you can determine if the charge circuitry is bad based on my battery experience with cell phones and tools, but i'll update every few months with progress or as soon as i hit an issue. Anyway as of a new installation there were no issues. As an aside Sony is a great company. Taking these apart there is no glue, and they are designed to be serviced. Of course they don't endorse this because they don't want to be liable, however the fact that they are built this way is just fantastic. 2 years in i have new pads and a fresh battery so they are basically new. That alone is reason to buy this product. One tip is to not remove the foam under the pads unless you want fresh foam. it is tricky to get that back in right location. The purpose of the foam is to stop air turbulence from running over the driver and if air does anc feedback happens this is a loud mic sound or a loud rumble. Since i had removed the foam, it took me a while to get that right. I 'd advise just leaving that, it isn't necessary to remove it to pull out the screws if you just go around the edges, perhaps i have a sensitive unit but wanted to give that tip. If you do, and you put it back in and hit that problem this is the cause you need to make sure the outside of the ear cup has the foam tight, and it does get pulled up when pads touch it. I ended up using double sided tape for eat sinks which is really strong. Here is my recommended approach after doing this job:Drain the battery you have if possible it will be safer to work with.Take off the pad by prying under where the tabs are (around 10 and 12 oclock and pull the pad up in that direction the pads come right off that way. THey are clips you need to sort of push in and pull up ideally.after the pads is up remove the four screws by gently pulling back the foam.take the back panel back extremely slowly there is a ribbon cable put no pressure on that. Seriously. There is plenty of slack it shouldn't be a problem but ribbon cables can be easily damaged. Now put the headphones where the pads were on a table (driver down), and ear the cup against something unless you removed the ribbon cable, and you 'll need to gently removing two pieces of tape one on the battery and gently peel the one that is on the cable BECAUSE it is connected to soldered cables that is the one you need to be careful. This is the highest risk part of this this piece of tape on the cable in my opinion. You can't be putting any pressure on that cable or using anything metal or anything like that. I'd use a fingernal Remember that battery is still connected too. I had to get that tape up to get it unplugged, but unplugged it as soon as i could, then removed the rest of the tape so i could gentile slide the cable out from the clip.Use a thin plastic tool to slide under the battery all around from under think spatula no pry; in my case i didn't do any pry i just took my time sliding under breaking free for the adhesive.now reverse process for new battery being extremely careful again, and plugging in as late as possible. After you plug in test before you put in the screws so if it is defective you can avoid the hassle. Also note by being careful you can still have a backup battery. These batteries can catch on fire if you start pulling and twisting them. Don't do that. Ask Samsung all about that. Because there is glue on the battery I feel the need to call that out. Fire extinguisher near by isn't a terrible idea either.

Doesn't provide the same battery life as the original did..
When I first bought the XM3's I would have 70-80% left at the end of the day, using them the entire day (7AM- 11PM), playing music most of that time. After a year with the same usage, I usually have 40% left at the end of the day.Now of course, that is still more than enough to end the day with as I throw them on the charger overnight. However, I intended to get a new battery as I figured the original battery wouldn't have degraded so fast if I didn't use them all day thanks to COVID.This new battery leaves me with 40% with the same usage. Like I said, that is perfectly fine, but I expected this new battery to bring it back to what the original battery was capable of providing brand new. Both batteries supposedly have the same capacity (1000mAh), but this replacement battery sure doesn't perform like that is the case. Then again, maybe perhaps I received a "bad" battery. Now that's not to completely knock this battery. If your headphones don't make it through the day or if you find yourself having to charge it constantly, then this battery will definitely solve that problem. This is just something to keep in mind if you were hoping to get battery life similar to the original battery.

Easy fix to some great headphones
My headphones were $300 originally. So having to pay less than $20 for a battery to get them back working was a no brainier.... Battery installation was pretty easy. All you have to do is take off the ear piece, the foam, unscrew four screws, and then take off the casing, and then boom you can pop out the battery.

So Far So Good
my original battery lost it's ability to hold charge after about 9 months of regular use. this replacement seems good so far, It ran about 3 weeks from the first charge. will update when I see how long it lasts overall.
