Thank goodness for desertcart! These shorts are perfect. The color looked more like a brick red in the picture, but they are in fact a true bright red. As other reviews stated they do run a little small so I ordered a size larger than just in case. My girls both wear a little girls size 8 pants and the Large fits them perfectly. They are a little on the shorter side once you flip over the waist band so that's something to keep in mind when ordering if your daughter is tall or leggy. I will definitely be ordering more of these for my girls to have as practice shorts. Review: Always pleased with youth Soffe =) - I've always been pleased with Soffe. The cotton shorts always fit my girls. Some of the women's products are made small but I haven't had that problem with youth sizes. Would love to have a pair in each color for her. We have used them for cheer and now we use them for acrobatics. My daughter has just started wearing a size 12. She has an athletic build. Size large is just right for her. If she was more of a slim build, I would have ordered a medium. These particular cotton Soffe brands can tend to look baggy on slim-built kids (my older daughter is built this way) but they still hold up for the longest amount of time as far as sports are concerned. The waist (pictured) has a little more of a slim fit whereas the leg area has more room. I believe they are made this way so they can be more versatile with leg movements (cheer, dance, etc). For sports , I highly recommend the cotton shorts over the others like mesh, etc. Way more comfort and movement.

Good shorts, but runs small. :)

The color looked more like a brick red in the picture, but they are in fact a true bright red. As other reviews stated they do run a little small so I ordered a size larger than just in case. True to size
Love the price and quality. Great summer play shorts for kids if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative. I also bought extra to keep as “good” shorts for my daughter to easily match and dress herself. Sizing is true but the they are stretchy so they can fit various body types.

Way to small seller is not kind or helpful
sizing completely off. I ordered a large girls. Description stated normal size,, with no measurements. Again I ordered a large in girls not toddlers. I contacted seller, they wanted me to pay $4 for shipping. They were not helpful, or kind. The places the vague description of size and are offer nothing for the size issue. I gave them to my friends daughter, rather then pay $4 to return $9 shorts.

Better than expected
I read far too many reviews when looking for white shorts that my girls could tie dye. I hesitantly bought these knowing I could return easily with amazon but hoped I wouldn't have too. I have one girl in a girls sz 8 and the other is a girls 10 so I bought both a M and it worked well for each. The band is stretchy enough for both sizes and the leg openings are a little wide/loose but it hasn't brought about any problems. They also took the tie dye color well so everyone was happy.

I ordered this for myself. I am a grown adult miss the fact it said for kids gave it to my niece perfect fit. I failed to read the Description Prior to buying.
