I was amazed at the place all over the world that are shown, and many in the US, which show houses set in natural settings, and seem to bring a message of relaxation. Review: very beautiful book - This book highlights very impressive (and high budget) residential architecture. Each project is listed by its owner and location, and well, they are all beautiful and designed with very specific requirements in mind. For an architect, I think this would be a useful book to have. For me, I just like to get ideas and one day hope to design my own home that my husband and I can build ourselves (as much as possible). While the homes highlighted in this book are way out of my budget limits, they are beautiful and offer interesting ideas and ways to dream.

Good coffee table book if you like modern home design
Good book of different homes - modern and blending in with nature. Great to look at when you're just relaxing in the afternoon.

イメージ的にはフランクロイドライトの山荘みたいなのを浮かべてくれれば大体合ってると思います。 あれをモダンにした感じの山荘や海辺・湖畔の家なんかを大判の写真で意匠が分かるように紹介しています。 そういえば最近観た映画「エクス・マキナ」の舞台になる社長さんの豪邸もこんな感じでした。 住む家というよりは美術館や博物館みたいな部屋割りや大きさで、迎賓館みたいな使い方でもしないなら中々管理費ばかり掛かって難儀な家だなぁというのが感想です。
