A good Truck GPS
It’s a good size, not too big, but not too small. It comes with a rubber strap around it so it takes less impact damage from the truck bouncing around. The routes I get aren’t always the best option, but that’s why I also have the Garmin Dezl next to it in my truck. While they both work great, there’s no reason to rely on one only, when both have areas that they are lacking. So far I find the truck routes it gives me are quite accurate.*Edit 1* Working out quite nicely. I am working on a dedicated account and delivering to stores. When I put in the store address I can pick the specific store and save it to my bookmarks list which then allows me to search for the store number when I need to go back to the same store. The only thing I wish it would do would be to allow me to select the truck entrance to the location I’m heading to, I also wish it would update my route for traffic conditions, but my Garmin GPS does both of those things.

So far so good routes with permitted loads!!
This is new in the Rand McNally truck GPS line, I have used it in couple of trip using an RGN-Lowboy high permitted load and it worked like magic when I changed the truck specs, routed me safely when there was a below 14 feet bridge and warned me of the low ground clearance at RR crossing but a trucker still have to take extra precautions and plan a safe route when hauling permitted loads and do not rely solely on GPS but so far so good!!

Found perfect use...
by far not as good as Garmin OTR810, i purchased this as back up and curiosity... only works with iOS, all addresses type manually, app wont sent address to unit, impossible to register, no BT connection with android phone or iOS, and this just the problems i get after box opening, i have to test it on the road... but as it right now my expectations very low... also no tech support and no info on the web. so so disappointed, for $450 they have to do better... 30000 miles update: as side unit it's awesome, it works grate with wifi, weather, diesel prices... it's like Robin to Batman... working perfect in the pair with Garmin.

Unit not reliable for gps road choice
Nice display but this unit cant find the correct routes, and the map spins too much and is irritating. Too expensive, not reliable and made my route DANGEROUS b/c I was fiddling and farting around with it so much to try and get it to work. There's ZERO customer service. I have written and called for 2 months and got no communication back. Also, screen wont work with polarized sunglasses in the portrait orientation. This is when it's turned up the long way.

Overall pretty great, but has charging issues
So it's been about 4 months since I got this. Overall it's mostly great. Has some issues with directions where there's been changes in the roads as they don't seem to update it often enough. But 99% of the time is good at keeping you know what lane you need to be in, where the exits are, etc. You can permanently avoid areas, I use this to avoid toll roads my company doesn't pay for, and is fairly good at rerouting for traffic delays. You can customize routing colors and other visual features, which is kind of nice, as well as your vehicle information such as trailer height and vehicle weight to get proper routing. The size is big enough to see clearly, but not so big that it obstructs too much of your windshield. Now the big problem. I've already had replaced the charging base and cord once, and will be calling them yet again tomorrow as it's not charging again. This is a big issue as the battery doesn't last all that long without being plugged in. I think they don't make it durable enough to withstand the rough roads of the country you travel in a semi. This is an extremely aggravating issue, and unless they can successfully solve this problem I'll probably be trying to get a refund. I shouldn't have to replace key components every couple months after paying over $400 for this unit.

On the road again
My husband uses this while he drives a semi. He uses it because he thinks Randy McNally knows everything. It does have side roads and the interstate and even when he's in BFE he can find roads to get him to where he needs to be cuz a lot of times when he deliver stuff they're not on the main roads not even on the side roads they're on the little bitty curvy roads. And this device can show him where he needs to go. He's been driving now for 15 years and we've always had a Randy McNally and he loves this one.
