The “Unknown” Reality, Volume One (A Seth Book)

Remarkable and moving experience
Where to begin?? This book had such a deep impact on me. It's as though his words were reaching right into every cell and molecule in my body. It seeped in so thoroughly that it's almost difficult now to extract it into words--which is saying much for someone as vocal/opinionated as myself!Okay, let me begin by expressing the overall feeling it has left me with. In a way I wish I had written this right after reading it only bec I feel maybe I could do it more justice in terms of being specific and such. At the time though I knew I couldn't or didn't want to. It just took all of me. The material consumed me as I went through the process of internal re-orientation, digestion, soaking, and swimming in the wisdom that Seth presents. In several parts I was moved to tears because of his gift in explaining and putting together in an altogether 'new' and very current way the deep mystical teachings of Self-Realized Masters. There were plenty of "Aha!" moments. It was exciting to finally find out how, in the past, I was able to do things which I just did but couldn't explain. How he breaks it down and then brings it all together is nothing short of genius! An example of one of my personal mysteries is how I was able to shop in 10 mins(as favor for my mother) for a going away present for someone at her work who I only met once. The woman had my mother call me to personally thank me. She was in happy disbelief on how I did it bec she really LOVED what I got her. Meanwhile she had told her family to never buy her jewelry bec she is very hard to buy for and they always fail her taste. Another example is how my cat of 12 years communicated with me the night before he died (he was living with my ex- but until I moved out was always closer to me) that he was going. Both the fact that I knew and also the words which came out of me in saying goodbye to him, acknowledging that I knew he wasn't only a cat per se and that he was actually meant to take care of me, was totally not planned, expected or had ever happened before in my life regarding a pet. I talked to him as though he was around me!I was surprised to note there are only 14 reviews on this in Amazon. I expected with the depth and breadth of the stuff in it more people would have read it and commented. Maybe it's a case of quality over quantity bec I did enjoy & learned a lot from the reviews. I have been devouring the Seth Materials in the last couple of weeks. It occurs to me that maybe bec of the energies of the planet ramping up in these times that I finally have come upon it. As an intense truth seeker who is now finally happily esconced as a Hindu (over 10 yrs) being raised as Catholic, married as Protestant, awakened in Charismatic, experimented with Church Universal & Triumphant, a year in SRF, did Reiki I, certified Akashic reader, self taught in astrology, numerology, palmistry makes me believe all that was necessary prep for me to digest Seth's Material in the speed that I am (I'm a CPA by day, was an auditor for KPMG years ago, but been in the same non-for-profit co for almost 20 yrs). It is also incredible how Seth explains a near majority of the things that Dolores Cannon could not understand but lovingly presents to the planet in her books the Convoluted Universe series. To think that DC was grappling with the advanced concepts from her regressed clients in the early 2000 and here is Seth who presented it in the 60's!!!I don't know if any of that helps anyone decide if this is for them or not. I share a bit about my journey bec I feel the book deserves it. Certainly for someone who holds a lot of sacred cows it may be too much. But then again, they may never come across this book at all :) Either way, since we are all cosmically connected, perhaps I am the part meant to be the stomach which digests this while those who aren't are perhaps the nose or toes that get to enjoy its sustenance:

Great book, read them in order though
The entire group of books, starting with, Seth Speaks, is amazing. Best metaphorically sound work I've ever found. A few pages, then think about it for a while. The entire set of books is like that.

Used in great shape!
I had to order this, gave away my copy, read and reread over the years. Profound book.

We live in a very limited segment of the full spectrum of reality
This is another great book by Jane Roberts/Seth. I will be sixty next week. I want to address every young adult out there: we have been bequethed a very narrow portion of reality. We are swans living as if we were ducks. You are not a body. Your body (and mine) is just a mere symbol. It faithfully depicts your own opinion about yourself. Reincarnation is real and you are an immortal spirit. The world we fret so much about is just a scenario. One of our duties is to detach ourselves a bit from our bodies. As you become adept at doing this, you will live with less and less fear. The Bible advises us 365 times not to be fearful. This book and your own night time dreams, will guide you in your quest to realize that you are preeminently a spirit, your body notwithstanding. This volume has a second part and you may buy both of them here in Amazon.

Good writing from a nebulous mist
I have to laugh when seeing another reviewer complain about the flow of the writing, considering the author is a nebulous mist, I would say the flow is pretty good. The writings of Seth are fascinating especially if you consider how long ago this was penned. What I found extremely interesting were the concepts of multiple parralel universes which correlate to quantum theory and many of the modernist views emerging in the "New Age" arenas and gaining attention among authors like Greg Braden. The theory of every decision having multiple outcomes, and that we experience all of those possible outcomes is mind boggling. It's not easy reading in as such if you expect to pick the book up and finish up in 3 days, then you will be dissappointed. It's material that needs to be read and reread, as different ideas come across on each reading. I'm a big fan of Seth material, but I can understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea.

Interesting, but . . .
This book is certainly thought-provoking and I have enjoyed it. However, it seems almost "clinical" in nature to the point where it's often difficult to follow. (It reminds me of some of my old Psych textbooks I had to slog through). While I enjoyed The Nature of Personal Reality much better, I do think this book also has value. Without reading the prior Seth materials, though, this book would probably be nearly incomprehensible. Perhaps it's just the difference in philosophy and culture between the 70's and 80's and today, but I much prefer to read Law of Attraction books--I find them more positive and inspiring. It often seems that Robert Butts just wants to interject himself into the Seth books by including personal comments and observations, which I find both distracting and annoying.

The other side of the coin
Here is my review from that one: This, as with all Jane Roberts/Seth books, opens doorways that no one discusses or dares to discuss, in a clear and concise, understandable way. The Seth books, specifically, especially focus on what we need to know and understand about the full, vital, ever-reaching potential we all share and how our universe is, indeed, ours. While science is focused primarily on empiric proof for every subject they examine, Seth takes us on a journey that explores the deep, vast expanse of personal consciousness and its connection to all things. These are books for people who want to know, to grow, to learn, and to experience life both personally and en masse, without the constant pigeon-holing that goes on with accepted mores and moralizing. It's an invitation to explore the present - your point of power - take the journey!

One tough read.
Having studied profusely for over 40 years, looking for the answer as to who we are, what we are and why we're here, I found this book one of the most difficult to understand of the hundreds I've read. This may reflect my level of understanding of the metaphysical or a lot of what Seth has to say is still beyond my understanding, it does go pretty deep! Don't think I'll be wading through Volume 2.

This book is changing my life
I just wish that every human could read this book, because it is the next step of our evolution.

True scientist

Rien d’extravagant

Take a Walk on the Wild Side
As a little background... I first read 'Seth Speaks' about 10 months ago. I read it twice straight through. I had once owned a copy of Seth Speaks about 15 years ago, but I never really got into it and gave it away. I knew it was an important work, but my mind was not ripe for it at that time. I suppose I was also a little suspicious.Since then, I became a Tibetan Buddhist, so when I read Seth Speaks this time around, I was able to be objective, and the information contained within its pages sunk in so beautifully. I didn't find anything in it that conflicted with Buddhism - not even the All-That-Is references. It just helped me sew up all the loose areas of my mind that still held conflicting sets of beliefs, where confusion and negativity often arise. Then, I read Seth's 'The Way Toward Health' which has given me a completely new way of looking at my own state of health and reinforced what I innately knew already: That creativity and imagination are VITAL ingredients toward health and better living -- or 'value fulfilment', as Seth puts it. We repress so much of our true selves that it results in ill health of the body and mind.Unknown Reality Vol I and II are not for the novice. It's better to read Seth Speaks or one of the earlier works before digging into this one. In UR Vol I he touches on the same themes as he did in Seth Speaks but from a deeper point of view. He is speaking to the person as though they are already groomed, so-to-speak. I can't wait to get to Vol II, because I gather that's the meat of it.Reading Seth is the same as being with Seth. It is like taking a walk on the wild side - the evolved (but fun) side - and it just beneath the surface of our mind. If I had to pinpoint it, I'd say it's a subtle switch from pessimism to optimism. You learn to switch off negative programming and listen with natural confidence to your own inner voice (which is evolved). That's what you get from Seth.it's a big gift.
