I bought the Deebot Ozmo 950 after a lot of research (was confused with T8), and I must say that I'm extremely impressed with its performance. Given the pandemic+recurrent lockdown, this solves the problem of cleaning the entire home, and lets me focus on my Zoom meetings. 😬 Let me make the review very simple for you by breaking it down into Pros and Cons: Pros: - Sunction Power: It's super-great. It cleans all the dust in the room, even at Medium power, and at Max+, it picks almost the tinest of things like a pro-bot it is. 😍 - Mopping: For a bot, the mopping is really great. It won't clean-up very intense stains in one go, but it still does a fairly decent job in mopping the home and keeping it sparkling clean. Being a person with OCD, I love this device so much. ✨ - Battery Life: We have a 2400 square feet home, which it cleans in 1.25 hours. The battery life is pegged at 6 hours by Ecovacs, but I'm yet to push this bot to that limit. 😝 - Maintenance: Cleaning the robot is really easy. All the dust comes in one easy to remove basket, and the mopping cloth plate is also very easy to install and replace.💫 - App: I love the Ecovacs app. The whole custom cleaning functionality (inside Advanced mode) allows you to customise which areas you want to clean, and also set No-Mop zones/Virtual Boundaries. 👌 - Alexa integration: Being a smart home geek, I love Ecovacs Alexa Integration. Whenever I want to clean my room, I just say "Alexa, ask Deebot to clean my room" and viola! It's done. It feels like magic. 🔥 Cons: - Price: Whenever I recommend this bot to friends or family, the #1 concern they have is the price. Personally, I don't find it that expensive, given the fact that alternative machines from Roomba come at much more expensive price-range. However, for those of you, who are slightly concerned about their budget, they might find the device a bit expensive. All in all, I would say if you are looking for a premium cleaning robot that can take away all your cleaning woes, go for Ozmo 950. I bet you won't be disappointed. 🙂

After much online research, bought the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo 950 as the temporary replacement for our maid who was sent away on long leave bacause of the pandemic situation. The following review is based on my past 3 months of daily usage, and my learning’s on how to effectively use the robot, working around some of the issues I faced. The Set-Up: Pretty straight-forward process to download and install the app, configure Wi-Fi connection and get started. Make sure you enable “Advanced Mode” on the app to access all functions and controls. Ensure your Wi-Fi router has good signal reach to all corners of the house, or you will frequently find the robot frequently unable to find its way back to the charging . Very important to prepare the house before sending the robo to clean, by manually removing anything from the floor that can get entangled with the wheels / rotating brush underneath. Cables, wires, threads etc are the usual suspects here. After setting up the Wi-Fi, During the first run, the Deebot mapped the entire house without any issue. The process took well over two hours for my 1600 Sq Ft, 3 BHK apartment. Once mapped, for subsequent options, there is a one button “Auto” function, which occasionally gave me problems - the Deebot would sometimes loose its way and end up in some corner, unable to complete the cleaning or find its way back to the charging dock. The Deebot then has to be manually carried to the charging dock, upon which it will relocate and find its bearings again. I have now started using the app, selecting one or two rooms only at a time to be cleaned in one stretch, which seems to solve the problem. Also, I had installed the app on an Android phone at first, where I seem to have encountered more frequent instances of the Deebot loosing its bearings and ending up in some corner instead of finding its way back, and also on few annoying occasions, the stored map got corrupted. After doing a hard reset, I installed the app on an iPhone, after which the behaviour has been almost flawless - not sure if it was the hard reset or the iOS that made the difference. The things I Liked: 1. Excellent vacuuming efficiency - Was surprised at the amt of fine dust it collects in the bin. 2. Noise levels are very low - able to comfortably take calls while the Deebot is working in the room (I have kept the suction power to “standard”, and use on tiled flooring. The “ Auto boost” increases the suction lower when it encounter a section with carpet / floor mat, in which case it becomes noisier. 3. The Lidar in this model helps in quick and accurate mapping of the house and choosing a systematic grid path that covers the rooms entirely and efficiently, as compared to random path for the camera based models. 4. The bins are easy to empty and the filters are easy to clean. I empty the bin once every two days and clean the filter using the provided brush once every week. This is important for maintaining the vacuum efficiency. 5. The rotary brush picks up lot of hair and gets entangled and needs cleaning on a daily basis. The supplied blade is very useful in cutting off the entangled hair and fibres, and the process is easy, taking less than a minute. 6. Wet mopping - I was initially not at all happy with the mopping - It used to leave streaks on the floor after mopping - like hard water dried up, in spite of me using RO water in the tank. Felt like there is too less water being dispensed. Through trial and error, I found the following, that has made a world of difference now, and I am happy with the mopping. a) This model uses a pump to pull water from the tank and dispense it through multiple ports below, on to the mopping pad ( a foam backed micro fibre cloth). Cheaper models use a gravity feed. b) Once I enabled the “advanced mode” in the app, I found I could adjust the amt of water to be dispensed, and I set this to the highest . c) I was still not satisfied with the amt of “wetness” , and the streaks on the floor continued. Upon some R&D, I realised the air bleed port into the tank ( a small button sized black patch with 4 pin holes) was somehow clogged, which I pierced with a pin. This made a big difference in the water flow rate, and it was sufficiently wetting the floor during the mopping cycle. d) While the mopping became better, I was still getting streaks on the floor, which is vey visible on the white vitrified tiles. A bit more R&D made me realise that as water is continuously being dispensed on to the mopping pad, once the mopping pad picks up some dirt, the continuous water flow was leaving a trail of thin film of this dirty water that was drying up leaving the streaks. So, I experimented mopping only one room at a time, and cleaning the mopping pad under the tap with a brush after each room - and voila - no more streaks, and the mopping efficiency met my expectations. Things I disliked: 1. While mopping has to be done one room at a time and the mopping pad to be cleaned between every room, vacuuming can be effectively done for the entire house in one go. However, this often gives problems with the Deebot loosing its way and having to manually carry it back to the base. This problem has not occurred if I select one or two rooms only at a time. 2. In my first month of use, before the hard reset, the Deebot lost the stored maps on 4-5 occasions - has not happened since the hard reset and switching to iPhone, with using the Deebot twice everyday for the past 2 months. 3. The Deebot is effective for fine dust and small particles, however cannot pick up larger items like paper pieces. 4. As expected, the Deebot cannot enter areas smaller that it’s diameter, so need to use the broom to sweep the dust from such nooks and crannies out to the open manually before sending the Deebot to clean. To sum up, the Robot vaccine cleaner is not a buy it, schedule it and forget it type of device, it still needs some tender care and love - daily taking out and cleaning the rotary brush, emptying the dust bin, cleaning the filters every week, cleaning the mopping pad after every room, and in my case, using the app and vacuum one or two rooms at a time to avoid the robot forgetting its base location or even loosing the stored map altogether. As long as I take care of the above aspects, I am getting very good results. Foot Note: Based on what I have experienced, I would assume the more expensive T8 model with the vibrating mop pad would be more efficient at mopping than this model for floors that are not mopped daily.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT AT ALL!!! UPDATE - After 18 months, the Deebot started going in circles and bumping into walls and objects randomly. Then the battery died and will not charge beyond 16%. I have been attempting to contact the service and that is a long story briefed below. For the last couple of weeks, I am trying to get my Deebot serviced. On their India website, they have a WhatsApp number. After trying for a day, they responded and gave a toll-free number that does not connect. Then they gave me another number which rings for 3 minutes when you listen to music and then asks to leave your contact details for a callback. Believe me- No one calls!! I have been trying this for days now. No response. So, I am now going to buy the Mi robot which my friend has and is working fine and also have a great service network. A sad end to a good product!! Ultimately, they have picked up the product for service which is done in Bangalore but do not have spares in stock and is unable to give a time for repair. However, they were very prompt to say that board is and laser failed and will cost 10000 to replace. Still waiting for them to give a timeline. -------------------------------- My initial positive review is below I brought this product after reading many reviews especially on international sites. The investment is big. So, is it worth it? Let us try and review each aspect. 1) Ease of use - works perfectly from the minute you switch on. There are many aspects including setting up the network which worked like a breeze. 2) First mapping - Completed in about an hour for my house whose carpet area is about 900 sq ft. Overall cleaning area is about 600 sq ft. 3) Normal vacuum cleaning - Remove all doormats, small furniture like step stools etc. It goes about doing it's job. The problem area identified is dining table and 6 chairs. After couple of days, I started moving the chairs and putting them in a line close to the wall. So now the area under the table is free. 4) Cleanliness - Even when you think the.house is clean, you cannot believe the amount of dust collected after each clean. The dual sweeping brushes helps in getting to every place except a 2 cm area in the wall corner and any gaps where it cannot enter. 5) Battery - my first mapping cleaning drained about 50 percent. Later it was less than 20 percent for each cleaning. 6) Noise - Not much. Just a ceiling fan sort of noise. 7) Mop function - works fine if the house is clean. However, cannot match the thorough manual mopping. Does not remove stubborn sticky stain or stuff like food, tea.coffee etc. A simple flat mopping manually will make sure that the house is very clean. Tank, brush and filter cleaning - very easy. Major issue is long hair caught on the roller brush. The tank and filters can be washed and dried overnight and it's ready to go again. 8) Issues - The laser is very sensitive to dust and gives error now and then. It goes away after cleaning. The instruction is to tap gently on the module. Has worked every time. After the power failure especially multiple times, the delay in connection to wifi results in it going out of charging dock and then trying to find it's way back which it does. Wifi is necessary. I connected it to my primary router but then it has some areas where signal is poor. I therefore reconncted to my wifi extender which reaches everywhere and therefore perfect. Service is uncertain like many have reviewed. Same goes with spares. Hope they will address it quickly as India is a huge market and is something worth investing. Hope the Ecovacs guys can understand the potential. These points are for the Ecovacs guys - What can improve - Mapping - when there is a glass door, the laser sees through and maps the area. Mapping can be improved. Map resetting - sometimes map seems to reset by itself. I moved my charging dock about 20 cms and everytime the map resets, it goes back to the first map with the original position of charging dock. Then it relocates and corrects itself. Tire marks after mopping. While mopping, it leaves marks of the tire behind after drying. Overall, an excellent gadget that is needed in every house. Believe me, no manual sweeping can ever match this action. No hassles, no headaches - just rearrange stuff a bit at home for maximum efficacy in cleaning. One warning to all - Many people may be considering this for commercial places like shops, hotels and offices. I am not sure if it is designed for doing such heavy duty work. For me it is like a friendly pet for home. Update after 4 months: Spares are now available on Amazon. Update after using for 18 months - still works fine but has started showing niggles. I am looking to get it serviced through their network as mentioned on the Deebot India website. They strangely declare that those sold on Amazon will not be eligible for home service which sounds NOT OKAY to me. If they don't want to treat all customers equally, they should not sell it through dealers and online channels. Will evaluate the service and update it.

I had got deebot 950 couple of days back. The first day I felt awesome. It does its work really well. Cleaning : The cleaning is spotless. And the various suction powers it had is a big advantage. I had tried all the suction powers but didn't feel the need of max+. I was having a doubt if it could clean the corner but the twin brushes is a big advantage where it pushes the dirt towards the suction roll. Mopping: initially I was having doubt on how it could mop with 350 ml water. But the advantage is that it cleans before mopping so, doesn't need much of water. One cool thing is that, it doesn't go over carpet if the mopping pad is attached. App: the app is simple super and easy to use. It is self explanatory and did not feel I needed any help. The multi level maps is an added advantage. The no go zones marking are honoured with precision. Labeling the rooms and custom cleaning helps a lot when you need a specific room to be cleaned. Map: I was really impressed with the map that was created and the level of accuracy it had. It clearly specifies what is covered and what was not in the map. Voice assistant : cool to have voice assist where it speaks up the status. Return to charging station is dam accurate. Only time it had issues was when the dock was switched off.

Did vigorous testing of all features of the robot and I am very happy with the product. The suction power at standard level is enough for normal usage and rarely used max suction power. The LDA mapping is very efficient and multi level mapping too. Sometimes, rarely though, it gets confused while cleaning and map gets distorted. Just pick and keep it back on the charge and map is restored. Mopping is OK if your keep your expectations low. Sometimes, if you keep water level high/ultra high in mopping mode, the robot wheels may trip and it may lose its way. Try low or medium usage setting of the water and it works just fine. Don't expect anything that's stuck to the floor to be removed. The microfiber cloth is efficient and so is the water capacity (enough for one round of cleaning). Battery is clear winner and even after you vacuum to clean the house first and then do mopping immediately (at lowest vacuum level), it still has some battery left. Awesome! Identifies carpets (I replaced thick floor mats with thinner non slip ones so that the Deebot can have a safe run) in mopping mode and does not get onto them. If you wish to you can create no mop zones and also no entry zones. Very handy to avoid places you don't want the Deebot to go. Alexa integration works well. One things that is not yet working is the command to go to specific room and clean. Hope that gets sorted soon. Be aware that the spares are still not available in Indian market and service centres too. So take good care of all parts until spares are available. If non availability of spares trouble you, then you may want to wait. Heard new auto trash empty model is also being launched soon. We names it Kattappa, loyal and ready to jump in :-) Go for it ...

It's been a week and this Deebot 950 has been a great help in getting our floor to be spotlessly clean with no physical human effort involved. Terrific suction power, very thorough with cleaning even in corners, awesome battery life, and overall highly effective. No complaints so far. Yet to test the mopping capability, but the sweeping alone has been outstanding and the yield of muck collected after every cleaning cycle is testimonial to that. The build quality is sturdy with high-quality materials and the app is fairly simple to use too. Note: The initial setup needs to be done only on the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band. Update after 3 month of use - the Deebot 950 has lost its sheen. It frequently gets confused with the map and superimposes a new map over an existing one. It fails to recognise the carpets and rugs it used to earlier and gets stuck on them. It fails to find its way back to the charging point every now and then. Overall, it's hard to switch it on and let it do its job - something or the other goes wrong and it beckons for help. Not so thrilled with the purchase anymore, but at least (with some difficulty) the floor is clean.

Pros: 1. Great battery life - Nothing can beat its battery life 200 min 2. Great suction - Amazing suction power 3. Built quality is good for the price 4. Does the job nicely in less time 5. Has both cleaning and mopping feature 6. Good mobile app Cons 1. Mopping is not that great, Its cannot clean minor strains, Basically its does not have vibration or much pressure for a good mop 2. After rebooting every day the robot forgets where it is and start relocating itself only to change the saved map with incorrect charging location.. Ecovas really need to update this in their software as this is very inconvenient trying to tell the robot where it is every morning... I know Ecovas will tell us do not switch it off on daily basis 3. The bumper glass or plastic get scratch very easily they need work on their bumper 4. I did not find parts for this model in amazon, Not sure when they plan to launch it but we need them and they need to start selling it on amazon else no point selling the robot if parts are not sold in India Over all a must have robot that will make life easy, But if they launch Deebot T8 then buy that as its has AI and you dont have to baby sit the cleaning robot for getting it tangled in wires or else where.

Bought this over Amazon a few days back and since been on duty to clean my house. It does the job flawlessly and I'm surprised to see the capacity and technological advancements. Cons: 1. It is a pain in the beginning to map it to the app as it only works with 2.4 GHz frequency so if you have a 5 GHz connectivity, you'd need to switch it to 2.4 GHz mode which might be a bit hectic for a few. No other drawback except for the fact that price is on the higher side. Pros: ✓ Absolutely premium build quality with greatly laid out design. ✓ Carpet detection mode really works well on this bot and it doesn't drip water while being over it. ✓ Setiing it up is easy but you need to read the instructions manual properly to understand since it's only pictorial which is simple. ✓ The app is really user friendly and has all the options laid out pretty well. ✓ The app lets you customise every aspect of cleaning including water dispenser and suction power. The mapping ability lets you program specific areas to clean, scheduling etc. ✓ The device doesn't make too much noise although cleans every bit of the house. Only when you increase the the mode, it makes noticable noise. ✓ This bot has the ability to vacuum and mop at the same time in one go and also lets you plan how many takes you want it to take. Usually 1 round of the house is enough although the battery supports multiple rounds depending upon the area. ✓ The charging doc comes with a long cable and the quality too is optimum. The not always finds it after cleaning is over or if the battery gets low. All in all, I'm satisfied with this product very much and it eases of the burden of cleaning a lot. Suggestions: Keep away as many obstacles as possible. Eg: Move lighter furniture out of the way. Wires/Slippers/Door mats etc should not be laying around. It will help the bot to create the best map for your house as it will be able to access most of the area.
